Can Korribete play for N.S.W...

it would be very weird circumstances for the state switch to happen, but I suppose it could happen. This player could also nominate if they have lived in both State as a kid?!

But unless you have either lived in or played for Qld or NSW from the age of 14 or under, you will not be eligible to play SOO.

This would now mean Benji couldn't nominate to play for Australia, and then become eligible to play SOO for Qld… He simply can not play SOO!

Isn't one of the Sims brothers in this sort of a situation? Wants to play for the Qld but is now bound to NSW?

Korbin played for Qld when he was 14… He could nominate either NSW or Qld. - Edit: thats incorrect. I just checked and he arrived in Qld at the age of 15.

He is only eligible for NSW.

Korbin was named in the inaugural U20s match for QLD last year. Pulled out due to injury. I doubt he would now be forced to play for NSW.

Pretty sure he wasn't on the list of eligible players Qld put out after the rules changed. I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT - Nope not on there

Was he on there before though?

He hasn't played 1st grade yet, I can see a few guys on there who have yet to debut but maybe its not an all encompassing list?

Not sure but I find it hard to believe the likes of Dylan Napa and Tyson Martin would be on there but he wouldn't.

Lat, I just spoke to a mate about that 20's game, and he tells me 1/3rd of the boys who played in that game are no longer eligible because of the new ruling.

I think its safe to say Koroibete will be playing for Fiji!

Thanks Watto.

I think its a bit harsh but at least they finally settled it and agreed on guidelines!

Wonder if Ryan James' eligibility has changed to QLD? Born/lived in NSW and played some juniors for Bilambil Jets but went to school just across the border at Palm Beach Currumbin.

Which should have always been the case. Hopefully with these new rules we might see a pretty good Fijian side in years to come.

International Rugby League will never strengthen unless they relax the rules around non AU & NZ players being able to play SOO and for their heritage country or parent's country.

Like Lote can play for QLD and Fiji

I hope this is the case.
