Why wasnt tedesco signed at the end of last season or the start of 2014?He was one of our most solid performers last yr so shouldnt he be a priority?His asking price at this time would of been stuff all,as there were no other teams interested.If he does go on to be a superstar as many have predicted then this could be yet again another tigers blunder.Can the high and mighty at the tigers spot future talent

agree with OP

tigers cant see talent at all

they re-signed nuffies like brooks, moses, sirro, simona, noffa, sue and woods but didnt re-sign the only talent that is earmarked not just australian jumper but a future immortal as well.

he was already an international last year with the azurri. tigers have no idea about talent. sack em all
 
maybe because tedesco said, no i want to wait.

what would you do in Mayers position?

Force him to sign?

Secondly, do you seriously want to pay 800k for a kid with 25 games. Bloody GI wouldnt be on that much. It would screw up our club for a long time, sure we have Tedesco but we will definitely lose stars in the next year or two.

One last time - as has already been noted on numerous occasions…. The Tigers management did try to begin negotiations last year, but Tedesco and his management decided to test his worth on the open market.
There is no blame to be laid anywhere. He has made a business decision. His choice. Let's move on.
 
mayer did all that he could if some one wont sign do you grab him by the throat mayer has kept most of the young guys so you drop one or two you cant keep them all, have faith in the guys at the club

I am staggered at the number of people who more or less have no idea how the player market in the nrl works.

I think the Tigers junior development currently is the best I have seen in 30 plus years of watching. The talent in this club is amazing. It probably means you can't keep it all.

I would like to think that the Tigers realise how important fullback is in the modern day NRL and either we have a very promising junior coming through (someone mentioned the SG Ball full back is very promising) or we feel we have some one that can move to full back (I personally don't see Rowe as being anything but a below average fullback in the current NRL, his skills set is vastly less than Tedesco's).

Moltzen for mine is not the answer either, he spend too much time injured and again I personally think his skill set is vastly inferior to Tedesco's as well.

I trust the current management has some sort of plan for the future of this important position going forward (maybe I am being far too kind to the management) but I do believe in the junior scouting systems we currently have.
