Can We Beat Eels ??

They don't look like a team on the mend anytime soon. The loss to our boys will be their breaking point, the one this week was far too close. Much like when we thumped Canberra 49-12 last year, they turned it around the next week.

If we go from strength to strength after yesterdays win, we may be looking at a record score VS Parramatta.

Interesting fact - Last year Parra played us at the best of times, and the worst of times -

We couldn't buy a try against them in the first encounter, bombing a couple of tries, and getting the real unlucky rub of the green in the first game - 22-6 loss.

then at the end of the year a one-on-one tackle bust by Ayshford on Hayne whilst all the other eels stood by watching, only to dash away and scream over in the corner typified what had become of them in that 31-12 shellacking.

What i'm getting at is I think the Eels are playing WORSE than they did last year right now - so much standing around waiting for something to happen, and Steven Kearney looks like he's about to go postal.

Parra are running last so of course we can beat them.
They have so many problems in their club, its hard to see where the next win will come from.

write off Parra at your own peril.

yes, very true and we have a knack of playing nuffies back into form.

Having said that I think they got Manly on the right night - they backed it up with another uninspiring effort against the titans.

I don't think Parra have hit rock bottom yet, which means I think they may well hit it against our lads. The demotion of Luke Burt is not the end of it for them, and I also have a feeling we might see more Tigers supporters at the Eels game than Eels Supporters.

Tigers will win this no doubt, but it will be closer than most would think.
They will be very determined but we will break them 22 to 18

My pulse races when we play Parra. They always seem to give us a good workout. If the boys keep their noses to the wheel we can do them. Also, it would be nice if Hayne hurt his knee and was ruled out!

If we play smart an keep building no reason we can't beat them. However let's not get cocky, heads down hard work an I'm sure we'll come out on top.

I agree.
one win is good.give a bit of confidence
need to back it up with another.
would not care if wests-tigers played boring footy, to ensure a finals berth, as long as they make the finals.

one step at a time.
all effort and focus on eels game.

Well Warren Ryan and David Morrow commented they thought something was wrong with Hayne in the second half

Their next win will come if we show up with this exact attitude and think we are back We have turned a corner but that corner is a long way from the highway if that makes sense

Can we re-name these threads to, "Can the other team possibly beat us!?"

Now that the monkey is off our back, of course we can win it, and the next and next…...............

they were very good, actually, hayne was very good against the Sharkies.

anyteam with Jarryd Hayne in it is dangerous, regardless of who else they have on the park

i always get bad vibes playing this mob, there like our bogey side. For some reason or another, they always turn up against us . Dont be fooled good win against Panthers but they were woeful, injury depleted but so were we. Needs to get on a roll

If we play a controlled 80 mins of football similar to what we saw in the last 25-30 minutes against the Pamfers, we'll kill them IMO.

Just have to rattle Hayne's cage, or get a bad 50/50 call against him and he'll disappear for 20 minutes at a time. SO will Maitua.

Having said that last time the Eels beat us in the first half of last year it wasn't Hayne who stood up he was pretty average - it was other players - Burt had a whale of a game, and if memory serves me correctly Benji got chased down by Ben Smith, who also had a brilliant game, Keating looked like an origin quality half, and Maitua came out firing.

Burt is languishing in State Cup, Smith is nowhere to be seen (injured?), Keating is gooone.

We can beat this mob handsomely, just as long as we play SMART footy.

I read somewhere Sandow is going walkabout this weekend back to this home town in brissy somewhere, Apparently he is missing home. If he for some reason forgets to come home then tigers should win it easy..
