Can Wests still buy balmain?

If push comes to shove do wests have the option to buy balmain out?

I think that could be in all honesty the best possible outcome. Wests gain a whole leg of junior development, imagine what they could do with rep teams/weekend comps. They also have the possibility to gain another revenue stream if done right. It would also give Balmain the chance to stay alive, albiet under control by the wests group. They would be silly to abondain the Balmain name and it some cases supporters. The best players go to one place any way. Wests and Balmain are family, and as a Supporter if anything is going to happen I would rather them stick together, its our biggest asset.

I would like to hear, what would be the problem if the Balmain Club was given to Wests Group? Wests with dignity, then have full control of a NRL team and just gained a chunk of juniors. This all while keeping the Wests Tigers owned by its foundation and bringing us all together.

It is the only probable and practical out come. I can't see Wests voting or allowing for a saviour as in outside take over. It's only a matter of time.

Pfft, why would you even bring up this crap! Honestly…

The NRL has just appointed its board and the club is already in the process of change, why would you start talking about an option which was dismissed a year ago.

The answer for the next 18 months at least is no. After that, it's dependent on what happens between now and then. No point speculating as it only brings up the same us v them bullcrap that always happens with our fans. So don't provoke them!

Maybe bring this thread back in 12-15 months mate.

WT is a company with shares… More than likely, current partners would have first option to buy the others shares at a nominated price as set by the selling partner.

As to buying BFC, I don't really know how this is structured, but while it has debt and assets, I'm certain these can be sold off. Whether the 'ownership title' of the BFC is actually sellable will really come down to the organizational structure.

Very messy, and I'd say BFC have looked at their options. I spose we really have to wait and see what happens?

Answer Wests Group buying out BFC share of WT = Yes that can happen and prob will pending financial viability of Balmain

Wests buying Balmain:

Wests Ashfield could buy out Balmain Leagues Club but there is virtually no incentive to do so considering the takeover of debt etc

Wests Ashfield buying out Balmain Football club, wont happen. But they continue to sponsor and support Balmain JL.

Ryde-Eastwood is the more likely partner if it was ever seriously floated but there is no meat on the bone to purchase except for debt and occupancy of a bowling club and a premises at Flemington

You people are confusing Balmain leagues Club and Balmain Football club. Balmain Leagues club has zero ownership of Wests Tigers. They have nothing to do with Wests Tigers.

Balmain football club are 50% owners of Wests Tigers.
