Can you go to a game alone if you are under 18?

Yes mate, I'm 17 and have gone to games alone 4-5 times over the past year and haven't had a problem….Just stick close to the crowds if your worried about your safety.....

I know this may be a stupid question but can I go to a game without an adult with me?

Stick with Tiger supporters lad and you'll be fine.

I remember a game against Souffs in 1970 at the SCG. Laurie Nichols was shadow boxing in the forecourt area of the main grandstand (where I was sitting) when a few Souffs supporters got a bit upset cause they were losing.

Anyway they tried to man-handle old Laurie and in the blink of an eye, they were actually surrounded by Tiger supporters!

Stay with our mob and they will look after you.

Me and my mate went to a game when we were 15 and found ourselves 15 feet away from the Parra Jesus who spent the whole game rolling joints. Good times.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade here but it's a sad indictment on society when a teenager has to ask if they will be safe at a game, if you're not sure try and rope a few mates in to go with you and if you don't have mates that are into footy I'm sure that you'll gain some lifelong friends by going to a game!.

i thought it was more along the lines of being at a licensed venue under 18, but maybe safety is the issue?
if so, i completely agree, leroy. when i was about 15 ("back in MY day…!!) i went to west coast eagles games and safety was never even considered. im not in sydney, so dont know what the deal is. except i went to the 2004 GF and the dogs fans seemed to be looking to riot after!

before i lived in the UK i didnt know that football stadia over there are divided in to 3 sides for home team fans, 1 end for away. when i realised that my mate said "what do you do in australia? just all sit together?!" and he was amazed. would be a huge shame if this is the way the nrl had to go in the future.

thats 25 or so years ago now, but so many changes to society in that time that really sadden me.

anyway, life is still awesome! lets not dwell on negatives!

I wish I was under 18 but that was a long time ago and back then we had no problems going to games apart from the 'friendly' banter but that was water off a duck's back. It is a bad look when today's young blokes are worried about going to the footy.

Ahh … times have sure changed!
I remember when my mate and I first went to the footy unaccompanied by adults... as 10 year olds.
We used to go to every ground in Sydney and I still don't know how we found our way to any of them except Lidcombe Oval because it was only a few stops away on the train.
Being all decked out in Tigers gear if we got lost we would ask directions from someone else who looked like they were going to the footy.
Once at a Parra game at Cumberland Oval we were waiting for autographs wearing all our gear (with our Balmain duffle bags hoisted over our shoulders) and an official thought we were attached to the team and ushered us into the dressing room with the players as they ran in.
Thanks for bringing back some memories Tigersman.

My question was if I could go to a game if I'm under 18 not if it's safe to go. Don't worry guys I'm a big boy I can take care of myself and if I get in any trouble I'll get some Wests Tigers supporters to help me out. GO THE MIGHTY WESTS TIGERS!!!!!

In our day the only game my sister and I were scared of going to was at Redfern Oval. And we were both under 16 at the time.
