Can't Some Supporters See The Improvement?

Maybe the short turnaround was the reason the side seemed to fall in a heap? Maybe injuries played havoc with the interchange; I don't know so I could just be being overly hard on the side but **I'm just so disappointed because I think had they held on for a win the guys would be riding a real high right now, thinking "we can really do this!".**
Ah, as for the topic title, I can definitely see things are well on track and I'm very happy all things considered. I just think a huge opportunity slipped through their fingers last night.

Yeah I share your disappointment Turnstyle, we could've been flying high in third place instead of slipping down to ninth where we are at present, but as our last season highlighted so strongly, a great start doesn't guarantee a great finish. I believe this team will only improve from here on, they are already much more committed than last year and they will learn from these tough loses against quality sides. I think Simon best summed up my thoughts about last night's game - "I have never been more devastated and proud at the same time". It was a heartbreaking loss for sure, but from what I saw of the boys last night, I reckon there will be good times ahead :slight_smile:

In the last two weeks, OUR team has played the two grand finalists from last year. We have played with the "left-overs" from last year plus some up-and-coming young (some VERY young!) players. There were comments on other threads that it was the youngest NRL team we have ever put on the field.\

We did very well against the Rabbits until the last twenty minutes or so, BUT the players at no stage GAVE UP.\

Last night, with more missing players, we had to play a 20 year old back rower and a 21 year old winger in their first NRL game against the other grand finalist from last year. The team almost snatched a win in a game, which the punters gave them NO HOPE OF WINNING and some of you are whinging about the performance!!!!!!\

Well, I am proud of the performance of MY team last night. I can see the big improvement from last year and I think we will be the big improvers this year. I can see the positive changes the new coach and support staff and new players have produced this year, already.\

I hope the majority of the TRUE TIGER SUPPORTERS agree with me. The remaining "supporters" ........_

Love your post Mighty Maggy! Everyone that's a WT supporter should be very proud of the team's effort this year. Let's all support the boys and stop nitpicking and criticising every little thing that goes wrong ( forward pass, knock on etc) they're trying, they're not giving up and will only get better. Enjoy :sign:

I'm not so concerned with the ladder spot, more so with the young guys getting a big scalp, but I am mindful of their giant killing ways of early last season too.

I am loving their defence this season (apart from the last 20 last night!) and I have to say I think farah is playing his part very well, with far more patience than in the past where he would try to do it all.

I feel like being a tigers supporter this year is like running the 110m hurdles on your own: try not to get too upset at tripping over one or two, because all you have to do is get to the line and you'll win the race anyway! :laughing:

Gee they are a good bunch of kids.

They so deserved that but wow they are goers.

The look on Taupaus face in the end mirrored my own…...I like seeing that. Means that it means a lot to them too.

Totally agree. Hate losing,( usually cant sleep the night of a loss), but loving the attitude of this group and confident that things will only improve. Feeling very good about being a Wests Tigers supporter.
 
Because people can't be expected to build their straight shootin', tough guy Internet persona with positive comments.
