Canterbury Cup Team Announcement: Round 14

Talau played his junior football for moorebank rams in the forwards, his old Mann coached dogs Harold Matt’s and ball and moved him to five eighth, during those rep years. He isn’t quick, and when he played five eighth he ran the ball himself too much. He is a gun competitor and defender but he must be the 3 man in or closer or he will get beaten by quicker blokes with footwork. My opinion will get to about 105 kgs in a couple of years and be in the forwards.

@balmain-boy missed the tackle cos I was too focused on McQueen, was it good?

Can't remember who it was on but he came up with a real bell ringer! Flattened him.

Bruh Jennings is way faster then him

We're talking about Robert not Michael.

Well it's true we haven't really had much of a chance to see either in full flight. Only the one time in cc and talau on the wing against the bears and a kick put through and he easily won the foot race. That and on kick returns he seems to hit the line with a bit of acceleration.

Jennings has looked incredibly slow and cumbersome. Probably a reason most of his tries come from a metre out and why he only makes 5m a hit up. I'd say Jennings is slower than Nof. And Talau is probably slightly faster than nof. That said, none of them are fast players and that's ok, as long as t there's a fast player next to them.

I actually don't know if Ro Jennings knows how to run in a straight line, unless he can see the try line immediately in front of him. He's got Nofo's disease, stepping and lurching this way and that, destroying any momentum he builds up in his run.

Whatever you might say about Karmichael Hunt, at least that dude knew how to run straight and hard with the footy. Credit to Corey Thompson too, he knows well enough for a little dude that maximum speed = maximum power when taking on the line.

No I meant Robert he hit over 33km chasing Ryan papi a couple of weeks ago....if he gets his fitness up then he’s good to go

Back onto the Canterbury Cup side, can somebody tell me how Gamble is faring?

Also J. Madden & Bradley - cheers guys

You had a radar with you?

Those stats are pretty useless. Often props come in as fast players. Based on his performances and over a hundred hit ups Suu far this season he's slow. Maybe he's injured. But he hasn't run with any speed on kick returns or when in half a gap.

Gamble is still in the top two players, along with Robson. But then gamble was on the bench this weekend, and played hooker and centre which maybe says something about where he fits in the clubs plans

There were quite a few incidents in thr cowboys match, where he was jogging to the ball and not putting in 100% effort

Maybe someone pushed him in the back and he fell with critical speed?

Cooper Cronk quite regularly hits 35 km/h with the ball in hand

Wouldn't read too much into Jennings at 33 km/h

Funny, that's the same speed Cronk reaches with paper bags in hand.

Greg Inglis easily reached those speeds in the speedboat that Melbourne gave him outside the cap.

Not a chance ...those bags are heavy with poker machine coins

Was being serious ....Ch 9 would regularly put the players speeds on screen during SOO .....Cronk was quite regularly the quickest on field if true
