Canterbury Cup Team Announcement: Round 22

Well it is all for everyone to see how our club has been decimated of player talent by the PEOPLE that run this club . These types should be ashamed of themselves and themselves stand down , many wonder why people like myself get on the soap box . Are the people running this club really serious about the future because I certainly see a bunch that do not give a crap to be honest !

When Newtown winger scored that try, Dylan Smith was ambling his way across. If he wants to play nrl, he has a long way to go, not good enough effort.

He looks absolutely nowhere near NRL level...

Am I the only one looking at the Newtown side and thinking they'd be starters in our NRL side

Flanagan
One of their centers
And a couple of their big forwards all would.

First time I’ve had a look at our CC team play in years and have to say I’m really shocked by what I’m seeing, this is supposed to be our feeder club into first grade how embarrassing...Madge I really feel for you and wouldn’t begrudge you one bit if you ran for the hills.
A broom needs to be swept right through the west’s tigers starting with all grades of the playing group/coaching group, admin etc.

Madge is definitely the right person/coach to right the wrongs but his definitely fighting a losing battle at the moment..God what a mess!!!🙁

Maguire requires 5 years to recruit the roster he wants and then get the team to the GF. The team has to be built from our juniors upwards. This is what happens when you have a high turnover of coaches two of whom were not up to it and a third with one eye on the exit door.

Disgraceful effort. Anyone who thinks some of these are ready for first grade has no idea. The only two who can hold their heads up are #2 and #11.

I am sure that next season's Canterbury Cup team will only include 2 or 3 players from today's team. The new players will be young with greater quality. There will also be a new coach.

Dylan Smith was lauded as a future NRL fullback...he has no heart or commitment when attacking the ball...has shown nothing in his time @ CC

a pre season under Madge can do wonders

I'm looking forward to this mythical off season that is going to turn below average footballers into above average. People keep saying so and so just needs a good off season....yet the following year they are still crap.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this team is too small, too slow and too dumb.

Not a single player in our 17 is capable of breaking the line. Compare it to the sharks and practically every single player including their props look capable of tearing us apart. Their backs all have pace and power/skill their forwards all run hard.

From our team maybe Bradley, seyfarth, Miller and F Smith have any chance of playing first grade. Ratu is solid, just back from injury. The rest should all be released or encouraged to leave. Most of these players are perhaps Ron Massey level at best.

Problem is all those mentioned above need at least another 5 kgs of bulk as they're simply too small for first grade.

It all comes down to a complete lack of recruitment over several years. Next year will be better as there's some talent in Flegg and no doubt Madge will recruit heavily.

Please don’t tell me has an an NRL contract for next year? He hasn’t looked even close to NRL level all year. We’d do better to promote the Flegg fullback.

He does, but I'd say he's looked solid but unspectacular. Been solid in defence and under the high ball but hasn't created enough in attack. Not easy to stand out in a rubbish team but still other fullbacks at this level can make line breaks from kick returns etc which he hasn't done much of. If he stays he'll still be around this squad next season but will be under pressure from Dillon and co. He may seek opportunities elsewhere if there's any interest

He and McIntyre are taking up valuable spots in 30 and I’m afraid are not showing much to get enthusiastic about.
Not sure if they have a future beyond this year but of course they could prove me wrong.
