Were the far more dangerous side, just some silly penalties/bad calls gave them territory to score. French was the most dangerous player on the field though. Backed up a break well to score under the posts, then outjumped Smith to score under the posts from a bomb.
We sent nearly all our attack down our left flank again (why?) so McIntyre, Mom and Bradley saw heaps of ball. Mom and Bradley did both score in the corner after an overlap.
Gamble was playing very well but was called back twice for making a break by running behind a team mate. Couldn't see from our angle but it looked dubious, and he certainly had a long discussion with the refs heading up the tunnel at half time. Made a few breaks and led the team well around the park.
Again Nof and Talau saw very little ball. Talau went off with an ankle injury after about 65 mins. I think he'd be better suited to playing 5/8 or going back to flegg as he's not going to develop touching the ball a handful of times a match, and not sure he's got the pace for centre. Similar to Marsters.
ET and Apouri were both awful. ET dropped the ball cold a few times and gave away silly penalties, including being offside from a kickoff after they scored. Very ineffective, though he was playing prop for half the game too. Apouri had another shocker. Dropped the ball 10m out from wenty's line on 3 occasions. We had limited chances so to do this so many times killed off our chances. He also always ran when he should have passed, and kicked the ball dead a few times too. He should be dropped.
Liddle was solid. Played 80 and really just eased his way back into things. Didn't run much. Did put a kick in on the last once. Defensively solid and i think he put Ratu over under the posts just after halftime.
Despite all the errors we should have won and Hodgo will be very disappointed we didn't.
