Captains Challenge

We still have not mastered this part of our game. We seem to challenge for ego deficiencies over facts. Reality if you will.

If you are not sure Benji - or the players are guessing. Never ever challenge in the first half.

Childish at best. Shows up our lack of maturity in the higher ecolons of professionalism.

Even if you are right - do you really trust the bunker. A game is by and large won in the 2nd half.

AHX - just to clarify...

Based on NRL data, from which I quote "roughly 30% to 40% of games see the halftime leader lose, meaning a significant minority of matches are effectively "won" or turned around in the second half. While over 56% of winners are undefeated in both halves, comeback victories of 12+ points are increasingly common.

Second Half Turnarounds: While rare, major comebacks happen, such as a 14-point lead being overturned 8% to 13% of the time, and a 2-point halftime deficit being overcome in roughly 35% to 45% of cases, depending on the match."

As for the whole challenge system - at some point, it will influence a game, sure. Whether it determines a season, that I am not convinced of. Not to mention the fact that if we have to question the bunker, then the referee, we may as well give in to conspiracy theories and not play the game at all...

To me, when the decison is cloudy, challenge it at any time. I don't know what real advantage it serves to keep it up your sleeve, again in the overall contest.

Regards

What is cloudy is the bunker deciding what constitutes the ball going forward or backward and or the conspiracy theory that they can't judge forward passes - blatant one when Canterbury scored today.

The game must be played otherwise it will be the death of gambling etc etc etc.

Back on topic - I was pinpointing West's Tigers - not the rest of the NRL.

And if you don't mind - whilst I still have you - and you have the NRL data there with you - What is the West's Tigers percentage in Captains Challenges?

Personally - do you know how it feels to have an ace up your sleeve?

To me when it's cloudy. Let it go. Especially in the first half.

In summation - I appreciate your reply. Appreciate the angle you are coming from. Thank You TH.
