Carney back at training

I honestly can't believe that after two weeks he will sorted out with his alcohol issues . Supposedly will be back playing next week for the Roosters . The Club keeps talking about how it has his best interests at heart , but it shows otherwise by this decision . He should of gone into rehab . News report on 7 said he is on his last chance .Politis, Noyce and Smith should be ashamed of themselves for putting this kid under so much pressure . I hope he can make it back and get over issues . The boy can play !!!!!!!

The interests Politis has at heart are his own.

On his last chance…? Pull the other one, a player with his talent will never be short of clubs to go to in the NRL...

It'd be even more disgraceful if he gets an NSW jersey this year.
Dude is a deadbeat any way you look at it, time to start acting like a grown up ya idiot.
Something wrong if your 24 & still give in to peer pressure, sober up gronk.

we all know that on his day Carney can be a devasting player.

It would appear that he is feeling the pressure of expectation to live up to last years performances.

it will be interesting to see how he does " cope " with it all in the coming weeks.

is he going to be a player who has, so much potential but cannot over come his demons (we all have some demons) and watch his career slowly fall apart?
only in years to come to realise that he had a great opportunity to achieve something, but did not.
.
or will he sort himself out and get back on track, and prove to himself he can do it.
time will tell.

Stinks of double standards.

If he wasn't such a great player he would have been dumped years ago.

For my liking he has had too many chances already and continues to let himself, his club and the game down.

I feel sorry for him- you would think he was Osama and Saddam rolled into one the way the NRL jand others jump on him.
Yes he gets drunk and does some stupid things - like not stopping for the police driving when he was over the limit (allegedly), urinating over a balcony onto someone and what? Having another drink.
Here's the news… he's a young man!
I don't advocate what he's done but there are plenty of ' normal ' people doing a lot worse every day of the week.
And there are plenty running around in the NRL now who have done worse ( in my opinion) and not been caught or not faced the music because the charges have been dropped
God it must be hard to be a footballer /role model these days.
In the past they could get on the grog , have a blue , play up in their own time and no one cared.
Now you have to be an angel 100% of the time.

Dont feel sorry for him, the bloke is a germ and nothing short of a pathetic drunk.

Cktiger, he has done far more than what you have just named.

Raiders sacked him at the tail end of 3-4 infractions. I can tell you now, it was more like 20+..

I've seen him in action a few times now, for some reason a lot of his crap isnt reported on. when he was in Canberra, he was regularly on the sauce and his behaviour got his head punched in a number of times.

He treats women like dirt, is one of those "dont you know who I am" types, can not handle his alcohol - he gets abusive and aggro and he has no time for anyone but himself.

He comes from a family of trailer trash try hard standover men and when he is on the grog it always comes out.

I cant stand him. The ONLY thing keeping him out of jail is football

If I wore my company's regalia while I go out and get blitzed on the squirt and damage the reputation of my company repeatedly, I'd be sacked!

I've heard contrasting reviews about Carney. Some people say he pretty loose on the drink, and can't control himself at all. I've heard others say they've seen him on the drink and he was getting baited all night and showed some real restraint. But the one thing they all say about him is that he is not too smart.

Mate i've seen him sit at the bar at a nightclub and lob spirits glasses at the dance floor, I've seen him spit on women as they walk past him, I've seen him start many fights for no reason…..

granted this was a couple of years ago but no-one changes....

Well in the interview if you take Carneys word as the truth originally they were going to put him into rehab until nest season, but then changed their mind after the counsellor thought he would be better off being at the club around football and footballers . I'm guessing that last counsellor may have been either Smith , Noyce or Politis They will destroy this kid .

Disgusting.

The Roosters signed him under the condition he was NOT to drink. They publicly said this and were 'firm' and rightful in doing so. He's had 3 indiscretions, all involving alcohol and he spends a fortnight on the sidelines.

The Roosters are a blight

This is not the Issue mate.

A club lost him and another benefits from his poor behaviour and indescretions. To make everyone feel better, the Roosters said he was signed as long as he gave up the drink. He hasn't, therefore should be sacked.

He is a absolute pork chop, i feel nothing but annoyed everytime I hear or see this imbecile now.

Also I never stole cop cars or decided to drink and drive…. why should this ever be considered 'normal' behaviour for a young bloke?

What did you expect was going to happen - with no real sanctions against him by the NRL and their blessing to the Roosters over the handling of this - it was always going to be the farce that it has turned out to be.

Plus it seems a lot of people have seen him on the drink - not bad for someone who attended AA.

Most of these were in his pre-Rooster days.
