Rather than having a dig at people offering an alternative POV, why not present your case more comprehensively?
A lot of your points don't appear to hold up - e.g. why would a game between us and the Roosters sell out? We last played there in 2013 against Manly, 12k turned up.
There were some pretty strong crowds up there 5-6 years ago, but the games and crowds seem to have dropped off over the last couple of years. CC Council have taken back the lease from Singo, so perhaps the financial reward for moving a game up there isn't what it was?
There's been 5 games there over the last 3 years, averaging 12,500ish.

I would imagine Bathurst is in the Penrith junior catchment area - or close too it. I don't see why we would take games to the Central Coast to try and widen our catchment are when we totally ignore the SW of Sydney which is one of our junior areas.

I think it's more that Penrith own a club in Bathurst.

From memory it bucketed down for that Manly game. Plus it was their home game. The crowds up there have been down recently due (IMO) to poor promotion and timing and the choice of teams.

I'm sure Demps doesn't mind alternative POVs but some of the comments have been pretty dismissive and/or aggressive. Fair enough if people don't agree but he's just floating an idea and having a debate.

I'm personally indifferent. Living on the Coast I'd love to see us up here but whether it's for us I don't know.

It's pretty clear cut m8… alternative POV = "ridiculous." ,"no, we have enough home games."

12k is still a lot better than this:

Queensland have a large number of Wests Tigers supporters…We should take our home game against the Broncos if we have one to Suncorp every Year in a Double Header like Manly did...Get the 2 heads to Show Us the $$$$$$$$$$$$...

I have no problem with promoting WT in other areas as long as we are keeping the vultures away from our traditional junior areas.

I think it's more that Penrith own a club in Bathurst.

Yes Panthers do have a club here, and they have claimed Group 10 as part of their junior catchment area.
Before they came here it was no ones junior area.

I noted with interest that Tamworth mayor was complaining that there was not enough NRL games played in the country, all his council has to do is link up with a NRL club and stump up some cash easy.

It was well still is part of the CRL. I'm not sure Sydney clubs can just claim an area like that.

Being a Central Coast resident (temporarily living in Peru), I would love to see the Tigers play regular games in Gosford. Actually, I'd be thrilled, if, one day, we had our own local team. Alas, there's no Central Coast Bears/ Dolphins or whatever in the foreseeable future so, my view is bring them north. However, if the move further weakens our financial position, maybe not. Would the League consider a relocation here, if we continue to struggle? We could incorporate the old North Sydney region and the coast as a nursery.

Bulldogs are starting to grow a following in Wellington.
Storm are pretty popular here in NZ.

I live on the CC and would love to see Wests play up here. From experience I would say that Wests and Souths are the most supported teams up here. Wests vs Newcastle would probably be a sell-out crowd. The Roosters do a bit of work in the local schools up here, but not as much as the Swans. The AFL is doing lots of stuff with the schools. NRL watch out.

I think Saturday's game, if it was on the Coast would've pulled more than 9k….
I'm sure people on the Coast that don't support either the Knights or the Tigers would've turned up because as I said, some people just enjoy watching footy - no matter what team is playing, I know I do.

I'd be pretty confident to say - Saturdays game in Gosford would have been a sell out.
But nah, we've got enough home grounds - let's do 9k ticket sales and stay in our lane, like chumps - whilst the other teams win fans all over the nation by making small steps like this.

Don't need a business degree to tell u - this would be huge for the Coast and it'll be rewarding for the club in the end.

Can see your passion Demps - do not think it would have been a sellout on the CC at the weekend.
Two very low teams with a losing record on a Saturday - would be struggling to get 9 in my opinion. If it was Sunday arvo, both are going ok with wins and playing good footy maybe you could sell it out.

It was quoted (by you I think) about 9000 at Leichhardt against the Storm - It was a day that looked like rain (still down near the bottom) against an Interstate team,
how many would you have gotten on the CC for same scenario? - 2 people and a dog would have been my guess.

Agree we could take a game away from Sydney - someone said Tamworth, maybe something similar. I think the CC is too close to give up a ground we already have or a ground we are getting heaps to play at (not sure how long this is going to last) - something that WT could explore. I am sure they may have already but it is the WT.

I vote yes for the idea, good on you for thinking aloud, but no to the CC. More thinking and ideas on the Forum can only be a good thing. Those who put the boot in, what are your great ideas?

Roosters and Manly already play up there. Never sell out. We already have 3 home ground, they both only have 1 so it makes more sense for them.

A pre-season trial every year would be good though.
