Centre is our biggest issue

Centres are only our issue when Nofo and Simona are out.

Funnily enough the one game they've played together in the last couple of months we throttled our opposition.

Noffa is much better than the others, however he has let a few tries in when he has played in the centres.

We have no depth outside those 2.

There are times where the system breaks down and a player looks responsible for an error where the team as a whole is at fault. But outside that we are making individual errors where guys are breaking systems, missing easy tackles or just stuffing it up, this is happening in the centres week after week.

Agreed Goose, but the team looks far more settled when they are there.

It is more of an indictment on our depth (or lack thereof,) than our first team when available.

We should go after Dale Copley, was the Broncos leading try scorer last season, he can't get a run at the Broncos behind Reed and Hodges. Wouldn't break the bank either. Whadda ya's reckon?

Would be a good signing, definitely NRL standard, and would be priced in line with his ability.

Another option is the Panther who misses the cut (Whare, R Jennings or W Blake) they wont carry all 3 long term

Well seeing that Waqa got benched 20 minutes in v the WT's I think you have your answer

I don't think Blake is better than Simona or Nofoaluma , whoever we sign must be better , not a step sideways

There are bugger all centres coming off contract that haven't been snapped up. Auva'a is the pick of the bunch but may be unwanted for obvious reasons.

Might be better off sniffing around other team's unwanted lower graders like Copley, Charlie Runciman or Tyrone Phillips.

Personally think there are bugger all real quality centres in the comp

The best centre in the comp is essentially a fullback at the moment

It clearly looks like some players have been stamped never to play FG again-Moltzen,Fine,Ako etc.just to name a few.

Moltzen off a long lay off, maybe considered later.

This will unpopular, I have very little time for Akoula as a player. He runs fairly hard, but offers little impact (it looks good but doesnt do much), he is a very poor defender and makes a lot of errors.

All the guys ahead of him in the pecking order are better IMO.

As for FIne, I think he is pretty good, id give him a go. I dont think he is a long time solution, but a short term fill in option for sure.

I havent seen as much of the NSW cup this year as I normally do (probably only 6 games) so take my views on NSW cup with that in mind.

Like him or not Steve Matai, would have been a great addition for wests-tigers in the centres.
Takes no crap, doesn't mid a bit of a scrap.
**_There are no hard headed / cranky players in wests-tigers backline. This is what's lacking._**

If Fine is playing well in attack and defense, he should be selected. I would also consider Naiqama as his partner. Keep Lawrence in the second row but if the new pairing can't defend, move him back into the centres. I would much rather blood some new talent than go back to the previously over matched and plodding Lulia whereas Hoeter has faded after a promising start in first grade.

Actually, that creates a question on the wing. Bring up Seve and leave Naiqama on the wing where he is sound.

Whoops, just checked the team list and it's Millone and Hoeter. What the…..? Whatever happened to consequence for poor performance and reward for strong performance????? Apologies for my vagueness and thread monopoly.

Had no sooner said to my daughter and son at LO on Sunday to watch Ware than he cut us to pieces.
Always had time for this guy and I believe he is off contract at the end of the year.
We need to take the bucket around the grounds for the rest of the season.

I had this in the NYC area but this thread is relevant discussing centres.

Just came across this page and out of interest was looking through the transfers. I seem to recall a few mentioning Mason Cerruto as a useful centre or fullback. I might be reading this incorrectly but is he transferring to the Eels?

WESTS TIGERS PARRAMATTA EELS Cerruto, Mason Pending 2015-06-26

Watched Brett Delaney & Steve Michaels today playing in the Challenge Cup Qtr Final… Surely they would take unders to return to the NRL?

Steve is pretty naughty though...

We have the best left center in NSW cup last year, and he was not given a single chance this year :frowning:
Certainly much better center than Lawrence/Lovett/Hoeter :frowning:
Fine is the best NSW cup player week after week, but not a single game in FG :frowning:
Similarly, why was Lovett given priority to Akauola and Funaki ?

Good questions….
