I would have thought that the odds would've been the other way around. All the hype and good publicity in the off season may have swayed the bookies into starting us as favourites. 😱pen_mouth:

Im not surprised by the odds.
Most experts view the Tigers as a team on the rise. Manly are playing away from home and have lost their captain and playmaker. Plus last time we met the Tigers were victorious.

Cant really put my finger on why we would start favourites other than we will have more support, being at SFS, and manly trialing a young halfback…We had a good monday night season in 09 also..Still thought it would be even money.

I don't think it's greedy Ink, as Centrebet are not twisting any ones arm to put a bet on .
I believe they are the market leaders when it comes to sports betting on Australia and most times offers better odds to the punters than their competitors .

Plenty of people will throw money on Manly at those odds(not me though). The teams will be nearly even when they take the field. Monday night they say is the biggest game for gambling, maybe centrebet are trying to draw people out early.

i think they like all of us have a general idea of what the teams will be and thats about the odds i thought we would be at considering the factors you listed.

i think manly will struggle big time this year, they have had a big 3 years and i think this will be there let down year, with no real halves with experience they will be on the rebuild for the next 2 seasons.

i think we will win 13+ and based on the history with us and them that is usually the gap for who ever wins (last game exempt from my theory)
