CEO - Shane Richardson

The NRL is set to scrutinise comments made by Wests Tigers chief executive Shane Richardson apparently suggesting referees have an inherent bias against teams that are lower on the NRL ladder.

Richardson doubled down on coach Benji Marshall’s post-match claim that the Tigers were hard done by the match officials in Sunday’s 18-14 loss to Penrith.......................

Surprise surprise I don't think Richo gives a F if we get fined if the refs think twice about pinging us as much.

It’ll be the only time the piss weak NRL act, when shown up by a Tiger. 🐅

What frustrates me , is they use the cumulative penalties as a stat to counter prove his argument, knowing full well that’s not what he’s talking about . He’s talking about the howler , the short whistle , the escort where you’re sent to the bin ( last night Foran blatantly held back a player who was screaming through for a try a scoring position-penalty) , the 3 infringements and you’re off made up rule .
We have copped more howlers in the last 5 years then every team has combined in the nrl era . Thats what he’s talking about . Penalty for lying in the ruck 60m out from the tryline is hardly the same thing .
Exactly! Neither are all the make up penalties given in the last 5 minutes when the game is already won.

I’m glad it’s being aired, now maybe something will change on the field for us. The refs actually might think twice before blowing the whistle on us. Keeping silent on the issue hasn’t helped at all, it just gave the refs licence to keeping doing it.
Would not surprise me if it will change, but not in the way we hope.

Yeah well there is that, but history has proven otherwise. North Queensland’s fortunes with the refs have certainly changed over the years since Payten got stuck into them, same with Ricky’s Raiders. These guys are always making a noise and it’s working. The squeaky wheel gets all the attention. You would expect a similar result for us, though it is the Tigers 🙄

If you're anything like me, when you retire you probably won't have time to scratch yourself, admittedly if I spent less time on this forum I could possibly achieve something.

Makes you wonder how you managed to get anything done when you were working a full time job and juggling all the other things that were happening in your life.

I do stuggle at time - good to be working in the building game with two sons so I can be flexible - they spend most of the time on site nowadays and I do most to the planning and running around. I already have retirement planned and it is busy: 3 day weekend (deal with cattle, orchard and watch footy) , Classic Bike Tuesday (Build, Fettle and Ride), Classic Car Wednesday (Build, Fettle and Drive), Mens Shed Thursday (Whatever projects), and Blacksmith Friday (New Hobby to learn). That is after we complete the big lap so that is a year off.

Will probabaly have less input on the forum when I retire as I will be spending more time away and working outdoors! 😉

Guys like toddy get away with crying all day and night but Benji and richo peep up once and let’s come down with the hammer!
As paid up members it’s our responsibility to keep our club on the straight and narrow.

It’s an emotional as well as a financial investment.

If they have these well paid positions of power and influence then they have to live with the scrutiny and criticism that accompanies it.

And the consequences of their decisions.

Sometimes they get things right and sometimes they make mistakes.

That is the way it goes.

As it was for Lee and managerial and coaching descendents.

If they can’t stand the heat, they should get out of the kitchen.

We are supposed to be a professional rugby league club, it’s no place for the shy and timid.
