unless the AFL send in a hit squad of corporate heavy hitters to instill better practice ,all the welfare they hand out will mean nought. Yes it props up their comp , thats understandable. But dumb is dumb. Most comp's of all sports seem to be intrenched with the same decades long haves n have nots. I dont think a massive cash injection from the NRL to us or ST G would get us into the 8 . Warriors have mostly punched above their weight going by imo surprising figures/metrics for a 1 horse town in all black territory, I'm happy with sink or swim in the big time , Club grudge matches of the past and fan loyalty are sinking fast with the game sinking into a perverted stream of gossip .MORE MONEY NEEDS TO BE SPENT ON THE GRASS ROOTS OF THE GAME, peace out

The media gossip wouldn’t be so overbearing if there wasn’t a market for it…

Most other teams fans get to watch their teams have winning streaks,
play semi finals and even occasionally have premiership charges … they are probably a lot happier than us…

Campbelltown's council has called an extraordinary meeting in a last-ditch bid to commit cash to stadium upgrades as it fights to keep Wests Tigers playing in the area.

God i hope not. The last place the Tigers should ever be playing is in that shithole. Guaranteed loss.

People like a front runner bro ! I never once saw a panthers jersey out and about until about 6 years ago …. I dunno what changed around then …
Also kids don’t want to wear merch from the worst team in the comp . So they’re not hassling mum and dad

😂😂😂😂
Explains why Da Silva is looking to Parra, Knights, Manly, Eels and Cows
Look at who these clubs have or had as their hookers and could explain why they are looking at TDS. TDS may turn out to be a great player or another Liddle or Simpkin both ex tigers who have never reach any great heights despite both being rated coming thru the grades

I think we could be doing a lot more with the talent we have instead of worrying about dilution.

All the money in the world hasn’t delivered the Broncos gf success for decades.
Dont disagree. It’s an uphill battle when there’s 16 other losers trying to fill the gaps in their rosters. Broncos apparently have the most resources and still can’t win vs Tigers with the least money to spend.

Yeah, I think when he arrived Richo said that the lack of readies wasn’t his main issue and after the NRL grant, we had enough fat to live off.

My Ex rooster buddy, he played for different clubs as a junior but ultimately ended up as a roosters fan.

He’s on some list or something and years later he still gets invites to their cruises etc.

And a couple of years ago or so he got seated on a table with JWH when he was still a mad enforcer. Said he was quite shy and friendly.

But there’s an insight into a club perpetually building up its culture.

It’s not a hit and run for the wallet. He feels valued and appreciated.

He’s an original Panther junior and resident.

I have no problem with Richo putting that statement out to make sure everyone knows the correct data and not DT clickbait..
The tele data was 2024 of which Richo had no real impact given most was already set by January when he joined. The statement was about the growth in 2025 which is quite impressive. Also tells the effect of playing at suburban grounds in combination with poor results

Regardless of Richos response stating that we have improved the off field financials the article just goes to show how far off the pace we are in real terms with the other teams. I have been banging on about developing a systems approach to coaching and pathways and the need to hire GM of Footy/Director of Coaching etc. but I expect that the club already knows this.

If Richos figures are as read he has done a remarkable job off the field to turn the club around and get us on the right track. However, iIt is a dilemma: until we have the $ in the coffers the changes we need to make to have a competitive club can't be funded and until we area competitive club the $ aren't coming in the door. If HBG were serious they would invest some $ in WT to get over the hump.

If this is the financial reality we face the priority for investment has to be to improve now as opposed to investment in pathways for the future (as sad as that sounds from a development club). Probably goes a little way to explain the why behind some of the decisions that have been made and why Richo and Benji are so tight lipped about it.

Are these days any better? And no, I couldn’t give a damn about Pascoe.

Yes …definitely better …that’s how bad those days were…

I dont give a damn about Pascoe now ..I did when he was running the joint for 8 years …. Absolute incompetent who was incapable of having success…that was the problem

It was interesting to see the full article today in the paper and the figures from all 17 teams …

There is plenty of work to be done ..but things were not quite as dire as I originally thought based on the snippets posted here yesterday …

Firstly …Brisbane is definitely an outlier … they dominate all other 16 teams …

Also, although the WT are last .,.there is like a $1m difference in revenue between WT and the Sharks/Manly ….Teams regularly making finals are but a bees dick ahead of WT…

I think we're probably OK with cash but $1M could pobably have is with a Director of Footy or a Director of Coaching and implement a development plan to get us out of thw wooods earlier. The Brisbane $ buys a lot of additionals staff support to make things happen; so given the $ they have are probably underperforming.

Imagine how much better the place could be if Richo and Benji had say $2M more and weren't juggling so many hats.

Yeah true ..but I think they can get that $2m if they can even have a couple of years of moderate mid table “success” …. That should improve memberships and crowds from the rock bottom state they are in now ..
