Changes

Tbh, look at Sironen's stats, he is not showing any signs of progression. 7 runs in 80 mins, Kyle had less mins and more runs? I don't see the hype at all. Both our second rowers fail to bring much to the table, don't strike fear into any team. Unfortunately we are short on good second rowers, Sue needs to come back out on the edge. As for a bench replacement thats anyones guess.

When Sue played on the edge, where I thought he was going well, many were of the opinion he was bludging out there too. If you werent watching closely, you missed the workload he was getting through, but he wasnt making many metres. The second he got a run in the pigs, the metres blew up, and everyone was singing his praises.

I am not trying to knock Robbie, but he is responsible for the brutal ruck punching prop run, hit up after hit up, he isnt giving much service to the halves at all, neverlone crisp early ball for Brooks and Moses to really utilise edge runners. Its the same reason we get mauled by big packs, there is no width for the pigs, they are just fed into traffic around the ruck all night.

The only way to slow down defences rushing up is to get your playmakers early ball and moving forwards distributing, also the only way to involve the second rowers more as well.

If you have access to the replay, watch the game and really focus on the distribution from hooker, it will suprise you.

Our play the ball was very slow tonight at many stages and therefore we are stuck with the one out stuff. Sue is a presence out on the edge, something that Siro and Lovett do no have. He's big and can run and make some metres. Robbie is to blame somewhat for the plays, many times he hasnt got the crisp pass away and it puts the others under tremendous pressure. I just have the feeling we need bigger bodies out there, trying to mould Siro into a Cordner type player which it kinda feels like is never going to work. If he is out their for 80 mins, he has to do ALOT more than just run off face balls from Brooks.

I agree with pretty much all of that Tuiaki…. though short of chasing the PTB around the park sharking for the one out, which you dont really want him doing, it really isnt in Siros hands.

Robbie was and has been passing to the man (more referring to halves) instead of out in front to get them moving like Friend had. Means our plays are deeper and slower and a lot easier to read.

2 out and 2 in.

In Fine and Nofo.

Out Lovett and Hoeter.

Both player out are unlucky but I just think Nofo has to come back and Fine is a better left Centre than Lawrence and Lawrence is a better back rower than Lovett.

Fine to start in the back row for Lovett. Just plays tougher and more consistent.

Akauola or another big body to be given a go at centre.

Amazing what a defeat does.

*We had 44% possession, the ball going the other way most of the night but Siro should do more in attack.

*We want to change Lawrence as usual, yet he was close to our best player.

*Bring Koro back - get over it for God sake and stop wasting my eyes.

*Our strength at the moment is the forwards - they ran into a much better pack who towelled us up - the backs were not going to do anything on the back of that. It also just put untold pressure on Brooks and Moses as if they don't have enough.

*If you make changes - it should be for better players. There aren't any apart from Nofa and he needs more runs. Sita in the centre - I have heard everything now.

* it was a disallowed try but momentum is a wonderful thing if you have it.

*We do not (so far this year) seem to be blessed with the opposition having to be back 10 metres like us and us having the luxury of the same ruck speed as our opposition. I would rather see these changes than team changes.

*We need to take stock and play better next week.

I'd break up the starting forwards. maybe taupau on the bench and start ava. We lose too much when we take all the starting props off. A huge part of last night was that the chooks made to much ground on every set of 6, and we didn't. Don't ono wit our roster can fix that problem quickly

Who's replacing Lovett? Buchanan? I can understand people not being impressed with Lovett (personally, I think he's doing OK) but I haven't seen anyone better to replace him.

I would love to be able to say we had one more prop, that way we could send Sue back out to protect Moses, but Buchannen isnt the answer.

I have grave fears of every team trying to emulate Cordner from here on out.

Most teams already have. He's had Kasiano, Ryan James, Burgess and Hoffman running at him. As Taylor said, it's up to the pigs to stop momentum and give him better support.

I think we should completely panic and make wholesale changes to a team that has been fairly consistent through the first 8 games and who won big the previous week on the basis of one poor display against one of the top sides. We need to drop pretty much everyone for State Cup players even if they get towelled up again. Also we should call every player we've allowed to leave in the last 5 years and let them know all is forgiven and they're in the run on side next week. And if all else fails we can call Fitzy. Then the next week when first grade gets thumped and our state cup team wins big we can reverse the process.

Last nights loss was not unexpected and they actually did better than the score line would suggest, and as for changes I just do not see anyone in the lower grades who will do any better. Our second row is a real problem, Siro at this stage of his career is bench player but is being forced to play big minutes and Lovett is a reserve grader who could fill in every now than in the top grade but is a few years off a starting first grader.

I am pretty confident what we saw from the chooks last night is what you will see from us in two years, but it will be a roll coaster ride till than

I'd shake up the back row a bit. Sirronen missed tackle on Skd on our try line was lazy. I'd even bench sirro. Also think fresh prince to centre. He lets 3 tries in a game due to being small. Also what was wrong with patty he wasnt himself out there… Kicking out on full and missed easy kick. He looked like the world was against him. ?

Spot on. Apart from Halatau's try, Lawrence was the only other player who looked like scoring, but apparently we need to drop him. Lovett consistently posts better stats than Sironen every week despite playing less minutes, but apparently we need to drop him too.

Yeah but must on this forum believe that pigs fly hence the reaction and fairytale thinking.

Agree 100% with you!

Maybe if the ball went Siro's way his stats might be better. Don't forget he is learning as well. He hasn't had a full season in the back row yet.

Halatua to right backrow spot. SImona to replace Lawrence (hopefully), Nofo to the right wing and Naqaima to right centre.

Sue, Lodge, Ava and Lawrence on the bench. Lovett misses out although I think he was decent.

You do realise that Simona is out for at least 4 weeks (3 to go), (Before he replaces one of our two best players last night), Nofo needs games in NSW cup before playing NRL.

What do you do for this week????

id put nofa in for hoeter. he got killed last night with a lot of traffic. and halatau for lovett.

Keep Lawrence there because he was good and deserves that spot until Simona gets back. That means that Lovett goes to the bench.
