Charlie Murray #300

i thought this too , or maybe taking the slower approach
Its actually the right idea.. bring them up when they are ready and don't give them the platform to go test the market..

Players are less appealing if they are just NSW cup players with no NrL experience

Charlie was good and played a role.

He won't play next match cause Pole and Twal are back but I think he did well all things considered...

For his sake I hope he gets a few more games.. but for tigers it means we'd have injuries so I kinda don't lol

Charlie is exactly the type of guy you want floating between the Top 30 & KOE squad.

Thought he did a decent job being Charlie Murray last night. Didn't overplay his hand, did what he was asked.

If the players we bring into the 1st grade squad when injuries strike hard are "Charlie Murray Quality", you've probably got a reasonably strong squad to draw on. Essentially- as a 30-40 player on the roster, he's good.

They don’t sign 10 year contracts. They’ll just leave in 2 years time anyway.

Yeah, though the penalty hurt a lot more than a bit for mine. It almost certainly cost the boys taking a lead into half-time plus the confidence that comes with it, and the match ended with us those same 4 points behind.
Just a moment though. He’ll learn from that - as a whole I think he has promise.

You're all having a go at Charlie for that penalty, but Ipap placed the ball on the ground before he stood up.
If Charlie had a different coloured jumper on the decision would've gone the other way and we go in leading at half time. Just one of the many subtle ways the NRL sticks it up us.
Agree
A different ref a different decision.
The kid did well for his NRL Debut.
For those who say he doesn’t even stand out in Reserve grade don’t worry I have seen many a player kill it in ressies and be a lot worse than Charlie was yesterday.
Looks like a player that will do his job and not let his teammates down.
Remember he only got a run yesterday because of injuries,
Good luck to him as he is now a NRL footballer something many kids dream about.

Like Galvin and tds?
They are NRL players not NSW cup players.

Galvin has played 30 NRL games
Tallyn played 10 games in 2025 alone.

We are taking about regular NSW cup players who have had 1-5 games ever in the NRL.

If tigers didn't give the platform to either, they are both still playing in today's NSW cup vs doggies.

That’s subjective.

Perhaps I have the wrong perspective on why NSW cup exists in the current format. I assume all these players have aspirations on playing NRL? A player is either on the projected rise or decline. I’m currently watching Hunt, Naden and Staines running around for the Maggie’s as well as tds.

So are you arguing these young players don’t play any trials either? Or another hypothetical, talent scouts don’t watch NSW cup to poach our players?

You are arguing that Galvin is a NSW cup player despite playing just 1 NSW cup game in the last season and a half. That game was because of the drama around him leaving.. so without that game, he wouldnt have EVER played nsw cup.

You have no argument mate..

Bahaha you try and put words in my mouth. It’s why you end up in silly arguments on here all the time.

I disagree that we should not, not play these young players in NRL to somehow avoid them being poached.
