Charlie Murray #300

Hopefully he hangs around and becomes an integral part of our cup team. We've been terrible in reserves for years and the team and coaching staff have been a revolving door.

I see him with the potential of an Alex Seyfarth level player. Which is great for the strength of your roster if you have guys like that at the lower end of it. And by "guys like that" I mean future immortals, although he still will have to work the rest of his life to get to Seyfarth's level and probably he won't ever get there, the ceiling is just that high.
 
Could Charlie become our permanent #14 next season to give Api a rest for 10-15 mins and slot into lock at other times.

To me Charlie seems the type who will work his arse off in the pre-season to get stronger & become an even better all-effort player in defence.

His service is good out of dummy half and with a pre-season getting reps there in our system, he could be a bolter!

So where would that leave Latu, given it looks like we are going to continue with Douhei at 7 for the foreseeable future?

We already have enough no-frills players. Charlie Murray is KOW quality. We need more high-quality players to even make the 8... look at Roosters squad vs ours, they are 8th and yes they are inconsistent but the squad alone is leaps and bounds above our squad, we need May type of players

I would also argue that the Broncos and Storm could almost field 2 teams that would have a chance of making the top 8. Their depth is crazy. Assuming of course the whole squad are fit.

Could we not find someone better? He seems a bit average and the sort of player that would only get to play NRL at the Tigers. I hope I’m wrong.

My post was more an 'if' scenario if Murray really takes his opportunity with both hands in the pre-season, puts on a couple of kg of muscle & works tirelessly on his game.

In an ideal world we have someone on the bench who can give Api a rest for 10-15 mins & we lose nothing defensively whilst still providing good dh service and this person can also play another or other positions.

I've previously suggested Havili or Dochar-Clay as nothing is falling out of the trees at the moment any better. And maybe the solution is right under our noses if he comes on as an NRL player.

I'm not opposed to carrying a lock/hooker option on the bench, would allow rest breaks for both Doueihi and Api with their workload in the middle.

I just want to aim higher than Charlie, as much as he has made some small improvements in the past couple of weeks.

Fair call, I hope they give him everything he needs to get better and I hope he takes his opportunity and we’re cheering Cucky. Muz next season.
