Charlie Staines #262

Sorry mate I couldn't resist some humour, his new coach has obviously unlocked him and it's good to see, always had time for Charlie.

If only we could have promoted space for his speed, hardly ever seen him in the open with us.
He was spending too much time defending or taking hit ups from kick returns or getting out of the 20m line while our forwards were sucking in oxygen like a bunch of guys having an asthma attack.

Shit Stains was his nickname for a reason, bloke perforated his bowels in 2023 wiping him out for most of the year, had a decent to average 2024, hardly world beating stuff. Forbes Ferrari was more like the Forbes Datsun during most games, saw very little of the 'pace' he was apparently noted for. Come 2025 he missed the first couple of months with injury and was surpassed by Skelton, Luke, Toa, Bula, Tino, Maka coming through. There just wasnt a place for him. Very much a Corey Thompson type player. Solid without being a world beater. If the Tigers want to play finals footy they needed to be aiming higher. SL seems like his place.
Disagree with you on one point, Corey Thompson produced way more than his contract value, very under rated player and as you say, not a world beater but better than just solid.

Great part of the world. Can't understand why more players don't go there for the experience.
Not if you've got a really bad back!!

8 bulging discs in total (cervical & lumbar) with one removed (diesecthomy), several forminal laminectomies several nerve root de compressions, spondylolisthesis, spondylosis & other oesteo arthritic conditions, its bloody cold enough in winter here in the NSW Mid Nth Coast!! I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO BLOODY PHYSICALLY MOVE or get out of bed if I spent time somewhere like Leeds in the middle of a Northern England winter....... I'd be flat on my back, going insane with the sun rising at 9AM & setting at 3PM so I'd probably come down with S.A.D and last but not least Pommy beers suck big time & I'm not u super curry fan!! 😆😆
