Well done boys & girls!

Which match do you want to see on Chooseday Night Football?

Thanks for your vote.

Steelers v Dragons (Round 5, 1998) - 5.52% (896 votes)
Magpies v Tigers (Round 14, 1999) - 50.78% (8240 votes)
Bears v Sea Eagles (Round 20, 1999) - 43.69% (7089 votes)

WE ARE THE BOYS FROM WESTERN SUBURBS. :righton: :righton: :righton: :righton:

After watching that, I sorta wonder how the Magpies defence was so atrocious that season, they seemed to scramble well there.

Nothing seemed to change with Hodgo, he still got smashed, still put his body on the line, and scored a good try.
Im surprised he didnt goalkick though, Dynevor was terrible!!! That sideline conversion almost went to the cornerpost and his 2nd shot from in front almost missed lol.

Craig Field… Played exactly the same as I remember him, some simple errors, some poor decisions, with the odd bit of magic but not enough.

What about the certain try Hodgo stopped in the corner - Brillant!

UP THE MIGHTY MAGPIES!!! I can still remember that day very well. I was in the western stand that day.

I sacrificed lots of hours voting for that match but it was worth it. I recorded it on DVD.

P.S. the peeps on the bears forum aren't too happy hehehe

Two things came back to me watching that.
First is how much I hated Paul McBlane, I think I hated him more than I hate Shayne Hayne.
Second is why on earth we didnt sign Harvey Howard??? We signed Pomeroy from the wests side but not the best prop available from both sides. We were so badly managed early on.

and why on earth did we have junior as our coach??? we should have started with a completely new coach..

I had forgotten what a cavalcade of rubbish players both sides had

Mescia and Nable were two just god awful players. Imagine that standard of hooker in our team and think about how bad we would be.

As an aside which sad ass niff nuff is Tiger Dave on the Bears forum. Sore losers are bad enough but there is something awfully sad about someone who cannot maintain a little decorum in victory.

the good - Hodgo, incredible guts.
Skando with fire in the belly
Harvey Howard

the bad and the ugly - everything else.

At least I've now got a bit of history on tape and something to watch when I get really depressed about how we're travelling during the season

Great work everyone who dedicated so many hoursto getting this up. Even from a balmain fans eyes it was great to watch this nostalgia.

Was absolutely devastated when we missed seeing the Balmain v Parra game from 1999 on chooseday night footy a few weeks back. God I hope foxtel put it up again as I so badly want that game on dvd.

Dinner-vor, looking like a professional athlete.
wasn't he one of the highest paid players in the comp when magpies signed him from newcastle?

Yeh I agree, Skando, Howard and Shane Walker as our props in our first year as WT wouldve of been a reasonable front row.
I remember he went to the Broncos so maybe we couldnt afford the amount they offered him.

Tell me about it. McBlane the Pain!

I'm not too sure why people didn't like Mescia. I always thought he was a pretty good 9 for the Magpies in the late 90's.
