Chris Heighington, Gone Missing?

Ever since he has come back from the hand injury Rhino has not been the same. His hit ups are not as effective, he is missing tackles and across the board his numbers are down including is minutes! Was going on? It seems to me he has gone missing a bit out there! Don't get me wrong i am one of the biggest fans of Rhino's but will we ever see again the form that had his name tossed around for origin?

It's funny, up until last week, Sterlo was saying how much Heighno had made a difference to the team since his return from injury. I'm buggered if I know what impact he was seeing, but he's a better judge than me.

He's useless, absolute rubbish player.
Hopefully he is released next year, sorry fanboys - he offers nothing.

Adam Blair 2012 > Chris Heighington,

Wish we released him to the Sharks instead of Bryce Gibbs.

I don't think I'd say he's gone missing. His effort can't be faulted. It's just that he doesn't bend the line or hit hard in defende. His lack of impact shows up a lot more when we're not dominating a match and he can't get easy yards from a quick roll on.

This about sums it up. The bloke gives 110% every week, but he is really starting to lack impact on or off the ball.

I know people are saying that he has just come back from a lay off , but he just doesn't hit it up with any gusto anymore and without that he is a nothing footballer

At least you know with Fulton he is going to hit it up at 100% He might get belted but he gets the yards

I've been telling parra supporters for 2-3 years now Nathan Hindmarsh offers nothing. They agree, but they think the same of Heighington, I agree.

good point tigermaniac, its hard for the fanboys to look past their teams jersey. Rhino has been pretty average for a long time now, not just since his return. If you do a quick search on this forum you'll come across him being bagged out before he got the injury. He has offered nothing all year and id argue he has offered very little for some years. I loved him circa 2005 but he just brings nothing to the team these days. I really don't think/hope we will see him in Tigertown next year. Simply offers nothing in attack and has no sting in defence, whats the point?

on a slight tangent which 5 starting players would you drop if given the chance?

1) Rhino (see above)

2) Benji - I know he is our best player and our go to man but i really think he just goes missing far too often for a superstar. Id just like to give him a kick up the butt to let him know he isnt a Kiwi Immortal just yet, roll up his socks and have a dig every week otherwise thats the consequence.

3) Lote - Just seems way past it and keeps his spot similar to benji, name value only sometimes.

4) Ayshford - Not totally his fault this year by being thrown in positions all over the place but his form from last year when people were talking SOO has just gone walkabout. He just seems like a fringe first grader this year just holding his spot and not playing out of his skin like he did last year. I reckon a few blokes from the reggies could step up and cover for this guy quiet comfortably and the team would loose nothing.

5) Blair - Again just a swift boot up the backside and dump him back into the lower grades for a week or 2\. Pull out some stinging defence, some cracking runs or give back the 500,000 and go back to Melbourne.

time for heighington to get his payday in england. i appreciate all he's done over the years, but sheens needs to give him the tap on the shoulder

maybe he is just being cautious since he returned from his hand injury
or has he signed with some-one else for next year and going thru the motions

1\. Drop Heino to the bench at the very least and give BMM a starting spot.
2\. Benji will never be dropped and should never be dropped
3\. Lote offers nothing give the 20s guys a go
4\. Ayshford started the year badly but has slightly improved. Put him back in the centres
5\. Blair IMO has improved, but playing in a team with our style, you won't see to much improvement in the aggression mould. But his offloading when he comes good will be worth the wait.

Yes Benji wont be dropped, but he has been quite poor this season!

Yes he does set up a try or two each game, but for the rest of the game he adds very little. Rubbish kicks, never runs, and now defence has been quite poor too. A quality halfback does more than setup a try for his team. He organises and directs them. Benji will never be this player though, so he needs a good 5/8 or halfback beside him to do this as then it wont matter so much if he drifts in and out of the match.

Sheens picking average centres at 5/8 offers Benji zero support. Humble would be much better. Or even better move Benji to fullback and get two proper halves to direct our team. Let Benji be like our version of Slater. Would go well and let him focus on his strengths.

As for rhino, he should get dropped (but prob won't be). Should be let go ASAP.

Lawrence, Ayshford, Blair shold get a stint in reserves. Reddy and Iosefa should be dropped all together and allowed to play wherever they can get a gig.

And yes both Marika and Noafolamu should be getting blooded into a backline sorely missing someone with speed.

Chris has been poor for at least 2 seasons now.

Inefective attack with his half jog - stop - pivot - push and succumb…always in the road during a backline play, missing heaps of tackles.

We cant win the comp with him in the 17 anymore...I am upset about it as he has been a warrior for us, but it is true.

worst thing is that he has no ball playing skills.. with the way he plays, the shuffle on the line, his lack of ball playing skills make it too obvious for the opposition.

he gets pushed back too often in the tackles, BUT he is good at closing down half-breaks
he needs to improve BIG time chris.
