Chris Lawrence and injuries

Long standing player allowance (8 years) of 300K can be allocated to 1 player or among a number of players..Chris is the only player we have that qualifies..

There is also the 600K Marquee Player allowance outside of the Cap that may be paid by Club affiliated sponsors ..again to 1 player or spread among a number of players..

Did Farah is his final years with WT draw the same benefit - it seems not. Why not?

Who cares if he did? It's just salary cap mechanics. They get paid their contract, it's not like it matters if some is from long-serving allowance or marquee allowance, it's all just money in the cap. Don't worry your precious obsession wasn't cheated out of a dime…

I got the impression that Chris' salary was exempt from the cap as he has 8 years of service notched up and that Robbie also had 8 years notched up so his salary could be exempt also. Is it a total of $300K or $300K each player.

The post also shone light on how the back-ending occurred. Sheensy wanted to go out in a blaze of glory with a few more Grand Finals under his belt - but My Precious Obsession copped the blame years later.

Total of. Your Highness' contract was done under Potter, who recommended only two further years.

One thing the injury hasn't taken from is his ability to know which lines to run. He doesn't hit the line with sthe same intensity anymore, but he can still hit them.

And Brooks looks a lot better with a back rower who can run the right line.

But was over ruled by the Club so the cap would not be so greatly effected by stretching it out further. So there was reason behind it. Oh well will have to forget about my genuine questioned being answered - can a number of players receive $300K each cap escape?

One thing about Chris Lawernce he knows the star of the team is the team, he might spend some time in reserve grade next year if all our forwards are fit, it won't bother him he is a team player, I heard that next year will be his last, after that I can see him staying on with the club in some role.

No..as already stated the allowance can go to 1 player or spread among a number of players..the total allowance is currently 300K…not each long serving player...

Lawrence earnt it yesterday...

Your question has already been answered - no. It is $300K total.

I actually got a bit nostalgic from his try yesterday. He actually hit the line pretty damn hard like he used too.

It was made all the better for me as it was Hayne that failed to stop him.
And the Golden Child got straight up whinging to the ref about the try.

The part that was not answered, could Farah have attracted that concession years ago or is it a recent invention?

It's been around for a while but I think the $300K value is recent, I think it started as $100-150K in the early days, the Ben Galea type days.

Did you notice Hayne smiling yesterday just before kick off as if this was going to be a stroll in the park?…he was whinging yesterday wasn't he..

He had one too many things to complain about yesterday, I got too much joy from that win let me tell you

Yes, very good line. Even managed a little change of direction at the end. Good footwork. Great try.

Your question has already been answered - no. It is $300K total.

Then end the debate now. Chris can be the only player who can receive this money. Until Brooks has played 8 years with us (is he next in line, is it Nofu?) then this money goes to Chris as he becomes the "free as in Beer" player.

Lawrence put in pretty hard yesterday and I thought he had a really good game. He looked to pick up another knock at one point (possibly peck or shoulder) and you could see him stretching it out while he was on the bike in the shed at half time. His body seems to be suffering from years of NRL so I wouldn't imagine that he has many years left, but I think he has been a fantastic ambassador for the WTs and has always conducted himself extremely well even through all the awkward and ugly times over the years.

When you think about him as a player and the injuries he's been through along with the late move to second row etc - you have to hand it to him, he's one pretty tough and determined guy.

He represents everything the club should be projecting, so I say all kudos to him and I hope he can keep playing strongly for another year or two!

What are you on about BBF? Not only has it already been pointed out earlier, you just quoted my first sentence which says "Total of.". And no, they gave him four years when the coach thought he only had two left in him.
