Zac Cini, Jake Simpkin and Tuki Simpkins all in the NSW Cup team of the year busting their asses off and carving up in reserve grade - yet you’ve got bludgers like Roberts, Tamou, Mbye who continue to get selected every week just to dish out the same rubbish

Surely with nothing to lose Madge looks to reserve grade and picks some players out from there? Pauga, Kiah, Kelma, Dockar-Clay have to be in the mix for first grade as well. All continue to stand out every week in reggies yet they’re being overlooked by the same bludgers every week who have no effort and pride in the jersey

Docker clay is worse than Mbye

No way

The fact he doesn’t have an NRL contract says otherwise.

And been to more clubs than Doug Parkinson .....

I understand how bad Cini was against the titans
But Noffa has multiple bad games in a row,as does Tommy Talau.
This year is done ,we need to really find out which juniors are going to be here for the long haul.

Thinking Cini is a better player than Noffa may top thinking Docker-Clay is better than Mbye.

Never said he was better.
I said he had one bad game and got dropped
Noffa has had multiple bad games over many years and still hasn’t learned to stay on his wing
Mbye has been completely useless this year so Dockar-Clay couldn’t do much worse lol

Staying on your wing is a line that forwards like to use but it’s a complete furphy. If it’s a 2 on 1 and you stay on your wing the guy just scores closer to the uprights.

As others have said around Cini, he’s not better than the 2 wingers in the NRL. Wouldn’t mind seeing him in the centres but he’s out of favour for whatever reason.

I think the club is actually doing the right thing with Simpkin and Tuki. Both are very young and need time to work on their game.

Harry Grant spent 2 years in reserve grade, which he has said helped him a lot to prep for first grade. Simpkin is 2 years younger I believe.

Tuki is having his first full year playing league, has a lot to work on but the club signed him for 3 years. He’s a long term prospect who needs to work on his agility.

Harry Grant was also coached by Bellamy and was getting help from Cam Smith and Motzarella ......

Extreme left to extreme right ...universes apart

DCE also spent a season in reserve grade before coming into first grade.

I’m not sure playing in the NRL is doing much for guys like Stefano either. Sure he got picked to train with origin but his confidence is getting destroyed in firsts.

I agree ...but you can write off 2021 ...what happens in the off season and the 1st 6 weeks of 2022 is what we should be focussing on now

Tell them to work their asses off for the rest of the season and play hard ...but the scoreline doesn't matter is probably the only message we can give them .....

Mmmm, your'e kidding arn't you?
Cini, is a good Reserve Grader, thats it.
Simkin has been average ,but has not starred.
Docker-Clay was a reserve for the Reggies a couple of weeks ago.
Either you don't own a TV or you havn't traveled to a game. In which case your mental state will be in a lot better shape than mine....

I haven’t travelled to a game? I’ve been everywhere this year. Only games I’ve missed were the ones in Brisbane. I can see with my own eyes that there’s more effort in players like Simpkin, Cini, Tuki and Dockar-Clay than there is in Mbye, Tamou and Roberts. Effort gets you places, I’d rather sit through and watch us get flogged but have players putting in every bit of effort until the full time whistle than seeing blokes with their head down only out there for the pay cheque

Sorry mate but I have to disagree with some of your post.....firstly if you look great in reggies doesnt mean you will be great in NRL fg side,a real step up to play against highly contracted players with gun reputations...
secondly ....when some NRL players get dropped to reggies they have stand out games to justify geetting back in FG ,a big,big difference playing down in reggies compared to the top level...
thirdly....why would you risk the young guys development by putting them in against high classed players to prove a personal agenda point,if they are ready Madge will pick them,he looks after the young guys...ask Cini why we had to buy K.Maumalo ...

Something has to change. I’m so sick to death of watching players like Roberts, Tamou and Mbye whilst you have players busting their asses off in reggies hoping to get a shot in first grade yet they continue to be overlooked week in week out. How come Roberts has had 1 good game all year but keeps his spot meanwhile Zac Cini had a blinder on debut and an average 2nd game but gets dropped and hasn’t even been in the 21 since?

A good first game and an absolute shocker second game I would think is closer to the mark. As usual with cases like him - he would have been told to go back to reggies and work on his faults, same as Simpkin. I'm sure you realise there is a huge difference between reggies and NRL. There is nothing worse and almost unforgivable in playing young blokes in the NRL before they are ready. Don't let that get in the way of your frustration - some can get away with it and some can't....Look at Walker from the Rorters, he has been struggling with his shoulder for months.

So you mention 3 players Docker-Clay has been all over the place, Parramatta, Penrith, Hull KR, Townsville, and Blacktown before he came to us - he was bought as a reggies player - his touring just proves he is not NRL standard. Are you going to replace Liddle with Simpkin or Cini who bombed his attempt at NRL this year for JTJ? Tuki is not ready and there is no need to rush him. Let's see if we can get 80 put on us.

You should always be marking someone on their inside shoulder if you can ...even as a winger ...

Yeah I’m talking about when you’re outnumbered though. No point holding chalk and watching the centre score on your inside shoulder.

Disagree, the games i have seen of him.

Same, he sucks.

He's been good in state cup.
Wouldn't say he sucks.
He just isn't a first grader.

I think we can say that about a lot of our players

The truth hurts eh....

Cini is good , he had a shocker catching the ball that night , and rightfully was dropped , as I think it would have killed his confidence.
He’s gone back and beaten up in the lower graders ,so I think he will return with a firm ego in place .
Simpkins is too young IMO. He will one day be out long term 13 , maybe as early as next year . Simpkin , is better than Jacob IMO. To me Jacob looks like he’s still nursing his knee at times , he plays with a real lack of confidence in it . Not straight line running but any lateral movement .
For me , I’d drop Mbye and JTJ for Simpkin and Cini . AD to 6 , Simpkin to start , Liddle to the bench .
I’d also look at Tamou off the bench for Joffa.
Joffa plays like a Queenslander . He doesn’t mind the niggle . I think him, Blore and seyfarth next to each other , is a much tighter middle .
When QLD got touched up in game 1 , he was the only forward having a go . He just gave away a lot of penalties , so obviously copped all the blame .

Like I said the only 2 I’d drop outright are Mbye and JTJ.

Then you bury the centre and remind him their is 78 minutes left ( it is the WT's ).....and that will be repeated every time .....

Get a small win out of a loss ...you cave a blokes ribs from a blind side ...they don't forget easily ....

Yep, problem with Noff is he goes for the glory play which is the intercept and it’s low percentage. It’s symbolic of the rest of the team who take the easy option far too often.
