I heard he left as you don't need a passport to travel to NZ from Victoria

That's just weird… Wouldnt he have had a Passport considering he is from Fiji?

Maybe we should relocate the Storm there?

I think that was a reference to when he was stranded in Fiji because his passport lapsed.

I've seen plenty of people "in the know" since he left give reasons why. I'm not so sure it's that simple. I would think you could ask Mayer, Potter and koroibete separately for the reason behind the departure and you would get 3 different answers.
Anyway it's done now and good luck to the kid he's going from strength to strength down there and his form is irresistible.
I find it funny that plenty of forums members still to this day no matter how well he performs won't admit he's a good player and he's no loss.

Bulldogs probably having the same whinge about Tupau. Its the nature of the game, some players perform better at other clubs.

The thing is he was performing great with us and it was patently obvious how good he was.

We let him go because Potter thought Richards was a better option. I think its obvious that this was the wrong decision.

How many games would Koroibete have won for us this year you reckon?

The wheels on the bus go round and round….there has to be an investigation into this

Koro;s defensive woes were always highly exaggerated. In the defensieve system we played all our wingers and outside backs got caught out time and time again. The system didn't work, and made all our backs look foolish at times. Koro no more than the others, he just received greater emphasis.

The fact was he was the best attacking back in the club at the time.

I'm not complaining that we got Lodge thought because ultimately he'll be a better player in all probability.

I'm sorry but Koro's issues were real

He was caught out twice standing in his own in goal defending in one game v the Saints Rd 1 last season

That is an issue

Don't know, but Pat has won at least two.

That's what I'm getting at.

He's moved on, so have we. We rarely lose anyone of quality so when it does happen I'm not too upset. It seems to happen to other clubs moreso than us.

I know everythings easy with the benefit of hinsight but Koro should have been kept. If he concedes the occasional try because he can't catch or can't tackle, he will score two or three to make up for it. Plus he's an excitement machine the fans love to watch. Poor decision by Mayer IMHO.

If we had of removed our previous coach earlier he probably would still be here.

That is a load of rubbish.

Potter had no say who went and who stayed.

You need to give Potter a rest - it is as boring as Koro.

Who knows. I think its obvious that Koro is a significantly better winger.

Hindsight is 20/20.

Koro was clearly 3rd best winger at club last year behind Nofo and Richards. Surely he moved to be a first-choice, fair enough.

On 2014 form he was highly susceptible in defence (decisions to rush in), dodgy under high ball. He had a handling error in him and his kick returns were not stellar. He was, of course, super fast, but hardly was able to get himself into the clear.

Meanwhile Richards was scoring tries, kicking goals > 90% and doing monster drop-outs. Nofo was bagging clinical finishes that won games and got on highlights reel.

Now Koro is in good form, Nofo is injured. But we have Naiqama who is a v solid winger.

I still think we are in the positive on this one.
