Claws Out Podcast

I’m paraphrasing but he basically said you can never have enough resources in that area but we need better systems and structures. Now my inference, for the size of our junior base, it’s pretty obvious we aren’t capitalising on it.

The guy had a front row seat to Gus’ work setting up Penrith’s dynasty.

Yeh interesting, would be good to get more detail on what changes they're making if any

We have proven time and time again that we can’t do it.
It is a bigger reason for our continued failure than HBG are.
The inability to identify, develop and retain local junior talent is not only frustrating, but a sign of pure incompetence.
You are 💯 correct.
What I will say is we seem to be slowly starting keep most of the better quality South-West and Southern Highlands based locals playing for our Harold Matthews and SG Ball teams where it wasn’t so long ago that nearly all the best players were heading elsewhere even for the junior reps.
So I think we are making progress, but it still needs to be a big area of focus and a lot of improvement is required from the Wests Tigers side of things.

He isn’t proven yet. I suspect he will be a star but fair dinkum, his first year with us was trash and his second year was very underwhelming.
I wouldn’t write him off, but the kid needs a settled and consistent 2026.
Trash? I hate him as much as the next tigers fan, but that is a one-eyed take.

Galvin will be a solid first grade player
TDS , not sure , but I feel fringe first grader
Macca , untested yet but I feel this kid could be better than both the above , I would def look to keep him long term and away from union for as long as possible as he may decide to have a crack if he goes well in the nrl
