Clean the lot out!

We don't need to keep imploding GCT,it is the people who are put in charge that cant get a hold of the noose before it tightens on them…we need strength and tough admin who wont fold to players or their managers to start with and then go about making this club and team a force to reckon with...no body seems to want to make the tough decisions in case it makes them look bad,however if you have been placed in the position of decision maker then make the calls or step down and let someone who can do the job step up and do it for the club first and foremost...

we have been soft for a long time,it seems the word' hard' is not in the WTs vocabulary..its about time someone made this club a hard place to get a start in by being professional,not hyped up or overated...
as my old boss once said to me,a fair days pay for a fair days work,most of our players parade around like NRL players but don't have the attributes of the NRL player to make the grade...until that changes we are destined to be a MEDIOCRE club at best....
 
I'm not sure it just the people that we put in charge. I think that it's just the way that the game as a whole is heading. The rich succeed and the ones at the bottom will eventually fall over. There's no doubt that there's too many teams in Sydney , and we are heading towards more one town ( or region) one Team situations.
I can see where that can be better for the game and TV, another time zone means another tv timeslot, and this is now a business unfortunately.
I can see a lot of reasons why we won't relocate, but the biggest reason that we should is simply Survival.
 
If there is a Perth Tigers one day then Balmain will be it's spiritual home - pilgrimages will be made across the continent to see where it all began. Tigers Club will be a shrine, Leichhardt Oval will be hallowed ground. Who knows maybe one day they can re-establish the Tigers Club in Rozelle. We can have statues of our heroes.

Would the NRL want a club that can't prosper in a rugby league city to be entrusted to successfully start up an expansion club?
I think it's beyond us.
 
Easy to say relocate when it doesn't affect you GCT.

You don't go to games unless they are in Brisbane or the Gold Coast I assume. Relocating and getting another TV slot would be of benefit to you because you would see more games.

For those in Sydney who have the opportunity to see a large number of games as it stands, their opportunity would be greatly reduced if (their team?) is relocated. Bad idea in my opinion. Watch TV all you like - there is no comparison to being there "Live" however you look at it. Also a question of "Live" support.

I suspect you are only pushing your own barrow. A Perth Tigers is not a Wests Tigers, Western Suburbs or Balmain oriented club - it will just be a football team on the other side of the country, might as well play in Dubai.

Get rid of the clowns that are "trying" to run this club, get rid of the players that are bludgers, have agendas or are just incompetents - strike out with fortitude and commitment and

Russel, I can understand you wanting the local ground. I have been to SFS and the Gold Coast stadium and about 2 miles away from the action, may as well not have been there. But I do get to the local Byron Bay derby sometimes where the action is up close and you can hear the players swear first hand.

So what that GCT doesn't live in Sydney?
I live in Rockhampton and I still think that we are the next team to die from Sydney. It may take a fair while but we are it.

I can understand your anxiety but tell me how many members do we have that pay the top membership to attend ALL home games?

We have less than 15,000 paid members and I'm one of those but I can't attend any. The NRL are so poorly run. The AFL have had joint ventures and full relocations with barely a hiccup. In fact the old sewn on members from Fitzroy, South Melbourne and others are still around with both their old jerseys but also their new designed/ renamed jerseys.

TBH, the only way we will survive as a Sydney club is to base ourselves at Campbelltown. That's coming from an old rusted Balmain supporter. That ground will need millions spent on it but we can't survive long term doing what we are doing. We can't grow. These current areas will still be ours but our future is at Campbelltown. If the board can't see that then we will just wither and die eventually as we are.

They'd need to make sure that we were competitive , It's in their interests that we would.
And it's a lot harder to prosper where there's no question that there is (and has been for a long time) way to many teams here. They won't be relocating any of the wealthier clubs, as they will survive here anyway
We don't prosper here. We barely survive.

Wests Tigers will be west tigers no matter where we go, but they will actually have a home ground and an identity, something we don't have now
I agree with most of what you say Russ.as for pushing my own barrow that's rubbish, it won't help me if we went to Perth.
I do see them in Sydney sometimes and have done so at Newcastle a couple of times.
I agree that it's better at the game.
But is it better to see no games and have no team at all in the Comp that to see7 or 8 games live and, the rest on TV.
We can put our heads in the sand or be proactive and set our own course,
Those that think that we are here forever are having themselves on.
The league would cut us in a heartbeat if it suited them. And it will happen in Sydney, and it won't just be 1 club that folds
We could get rid of the clowns that are there, but would simply be replacing them with other clowns. We don't have the clout of the richer clubs . And no amount of wishing is going to changethat
We've been here 16 yrs and we win a couple and lose a lot, we won't magically morph into a successful club in a million years. Not saying we won't have a couple of good years.
We've got to stop crying poor mouth and make the hard decisions that can turn us from where we are into a strong club. And the first step is getting out of the logjam that is Sydney Rugby League

After investing heavily in the brand for many years I pulled the pin…. one of the easiest decisions I have made but it burns inside everyday.......
 
Considering that our coverage area goes from inner city way out to Campbelltown in the sticks one would think we have tons of potential. It is about 50 ruddy miles.

Outspoken former NSW coach Tommy Raudonikis said Geoff Toovey is the man the Wests Tigers need to get the club back on track.

After dumping Jason Taylor three weeks into the new season, the Tigers have handed the interim job to Taylor’s former assistant Andrew Webster.

Raudonikis, who played 239 matches for Western Suburbs and Newtown before delving into a coaching career that included five years at the Magpies and two in charge of the Blues in the State of Origin, told Nine’s NRL Footy Show that Toovey’s hardline approach was needed. Tonny Raudonikis wants Geoff Toovey, a man he coach at State of Origin level, to coach the Wests Tigers.

If the Tigers do go after Toovey, he would need to get a release from his job at English club Bradford.
The premiership-winning Sea Eagles player only signed with the Bulls in January. His new team are six games into a new season and boast a 3-3 record in that country’s secondary competition.

''I think the Wests Tigers can go forward with this by hiring a little bloke I coached in State of Origin, that’s the halfback Geoff Toovey,’’ he said. ''He’s tough, he’s hard. He won’t put up with any nonsense. And I reckon he’ll do a wonderful job.’’

After saying he felt Taylor didn’t deserve to lose his job, Raudonikis took aim at Wests Tigers halves Mitchell Moses and Luke Brooks.''What about the players, they’ve got a lot of blame for this. I’m filthy on them,’’ he said. ''They’ve got to be accountable for the performances on the paddock. Absolute disgrace. ‘’Brooks and Moses, I tell you what. They call them superstars. Well, superstars you aren’t.’’

Paul Vautin thinks player power was behind the sacking of Jason Taylor. ''To me it can only be … and this is from the outside … they’ve spoken to some of the players. To me player power has made this decision.’’
