Club Review

Apparently Brian Hider, Andrew Leeds and Warren McDonnell could all be shown the door. I have no problem with this, but I'd be punting whoever looks after defence first, and I'd be looking to employ a general kicking coach during the off-season.

Hope they throw, Skando and Georgallis into that mix too.

We hear about this every year when we dont make the finals, especially in the 06-09 period where basically not much happened.

What's Hilder and Jumper Leeds done wrong

Out of all of them I would keep Leeds. Start fresh from the coaching and training side.

Unlike the captain of the Titanic Sheens has no intention of going down with the ship and is already in the lifeboat. The rest of the crew are expendable

If they're going for the fitness staff, wouldn't Skando be the first one on the chopping block? The bloke is a legend but his appointment has always perplexed me and reeks of "jobs for the boys." Why would you axe Hider and Leeds but spare Skando?

One of the things proved by the sorry exit of Wests Tigers over the last two rounds - apart from the fact they weren't up to it this year and the team and coach Tim Sheens have been together too long - is that Robbie Farah is the most important player in the team. No disrespect to Benji Marshall, but so much of what the Tigers do starts with Farah and his great decision-making and skill out of dummy half, particularly inside the opposition's 20-metre area. Marshall also seems more prone to error when Farah is not there, perhaps from trying too hard in his absence. That was the way it looked against Melbourne. Farah missed the losses to the Storm and Sydney Roosters with a broken hand. Yesterday, via Twitter, Farah admitted: ''We weren't good enough this year and we have a lot of work to do. #noexcuses''. He also asked Tigers fans to stick solid, saying: ''Everyone is gutted how it has panned out but you find out the true character of people during the tough times. Hope to see you all get behind us in 2013\. #longoffseason''. The thing about the Tigers, though, is that in recent years there has developed a certain sameness about them. The window of opportunity, when it comes to winning a premiership, has probably shut on them until there is serious change.

They may have done nothing wrong, but when you want a fresh start….I'd prefer to clean the lot out, start from scratch.....entirely new ideas

ITS all about buying time, once the final series start next Friday we will be out of the spotlight. So Humpty and the board will go through the token review, sweep the findings under the carpet , all go off on their holidays and you guessed it 2013 here we go again with maybe a couple of minor support staff being the only ones to get the chop.

Not too sure about Hilder. Isnt this his first year back?

As for Leeds, I have had a serious question mark about our rehab of players for a few years now. I'm happy to look at new ways and people within the structure.

McDonnell is an interesting one… He has been responsible for bringing in a few good kids to the development pathway of NYC and should get some credit for this. But then there's the recruitment of the 'experienced' players and even though he wouldn't get the full say on who comes and who goes, there is definitely some questions?

Sheens is the one... I'd say he will escape the cull from end of year reviews as he will only be judged on the past 2 years, but some serious KPI's should be set for the first 10 weeks of 2013.

Should they punt the Media Manager also???

There are questions to be answered on the recruiting front and McDonnell is the Recruitment manager.

Juniors like Woods,Dwyer, Simona,Tedesco and Sironen come through the system no recruiting talent required there.

But…Yes you sign enough outside the juniors bring them through NYC and eventually you hit the jackpot and end up with players like Ayshford and Moltzen.

I reckon the club will look at moving Tim into something like a coaching directors role.

Simmons, Georgallis or Payten to take the reins.

Just a feeling…

The Big recruits like Blair, Lote, Ellis etc are Sheens choice.
Mcdonnell is more resposible for players like Humble, Miller, Asyhford. So basically Juniors and fringe first graders.

I don't think he(Mcdonnell) is to blame here as he has bought many of the juniors accross or helped retain our local juniors.

LOL "we had the talent and the squad to win this premiership"..nek minnit.. *sacks recruitment manager*
