Clubs chase Laurie as Tigers stand him down from firsts

http://www.smh.com.au/news/lhqnews/coach-backs-guerra-dumping/2009/08/08/1249350728995.html

Storm football operations manager Frank Ponissi yesterday confirmed the club had received an approach from the manager of Wests Tigers cult figure Daine Laurie.
>
But Ponissi said the asking price for raw-boned Laurie, who has been dumped from the Tigers' first-grade team and is, it is believed, being chased by several clubs, was out of the Storm's price bracket.

Looks like Haddad the manager may have told some fibs to the Fonz. Managers who try and line their pockets with cash are scum.

Laurie is a long way off displacing any Storm forwards let me tell you.

This would be a good deal.

We give them Daine Laurie….We no longer have Daine Laurie

Yep, I'd be rapt with that.

agree

hes full of energy for 5 minutes

lol at his asking price.

Seriously Daine you don't even put in with the reserves to gain your first grade spot back.

You have shown yourself to be arrogant, lazy and lacking repect for other first graders.

Let him go.

I think Daine is like many other people, who appear to have a future, but never do the work to reach their potential.
He has the physique and the power to be something special as a prop, but he does not appear to understand what he should be doing on the field. I would have thought he would be showing much more on the field by now.
Maybe, the time has come…....

I reckon, since the harding working Ryan Tandy , who has scored a dozen or so tries in the NSW Cup,just got a call up to the Melbourne Storm this round, only because Jeff Lima is out.

I would just love to see Daine do the hard yards and knuckle down, but the look of things , he is just a loose cannon, thinking that he is better than he is…..you really can't blame Sheens this time for keeping him out of 1st

maybe it is our fault for making him think that.
he was cheered for simply farting against the wind.
sheens being labelled a fool for actually dropping him this year.

what i hope is that he spends some time with galloway.
galloway had a season pretty much like laurie where his last half of the season was in reggies his first year.
might help him see the bigger picture.

what was his asking price???

Sorry I was more referring to his demands for an upgraded $ on the 2010 year of his contract with us.

Given he apears to have gone backwards over the last 12 months any demand for increased salary is loughable.

It's hard to see where he fits in the current pack, and with Schirnak, Dwyer etc coming through, perhaps the Tigers are better off without the distraction?

Tip is he might be going the sooner the better a dummy spitter no talent and most of all no tiger spirit so go back where you came from and reflect in ten years time what a fool you were

WESTS Tigers missed out on Lote Tuqiri yesterday - and they could be without another dreadlocked crowd favourite next season.
>
It's understood Tigers officials will meet with Daine Laurie's representatives next week to discuss whether the enigmatic giant sees out the final year of his contract. Laurie has been frustrated at his lack of chances in first grade, but he hasn't helped his own cause by missing training.
>
There will be no shortage of suitors should Laurie be granted a release.

From the tele

Be interesting to see what happens. If he seriously wants out I don't think the Tigers will stand in his way.
