Coach Benji šŸ‘‘

Don't mean any disrespect to T May, but in my opinion having watched the games over the last couple of months, I think that T May is the cause of our poor attacking options in the red zone. I have given him the nickname "Slug" He backs into tackles, very slow play the ball and very slow to get into position.
The coaching staff surely see this, and if they don't, they need to resign and get someone else in to rectify this!

Ive heard that should he be sacked that there are no clauses and it will be a million per season ..his manager was clever during the one of many HBG disasters that they wanted stability after the Richo debacle that they agreed on this ridiculous extension. Could only happen at this happless joint
Clauses in Benji’s favour.

That was once Twalys job.

The reality is we will never go a full season with our first grade squad healthy, other teams seem to be able to handle having 2 or 3 depth players in firsts whereas we go to water immediately. My feeling is that we have struggled more with players playing injured and this has exacerbated the issue. We need a couple of decent quality first graders that have some skill in multiple positions, Averillo is a start and so is Brailey who I feel couldey cover hooker, lock and backrow in a pinch (assuming he is done), however we need a few more.
Totally agree I feel if we can jag four key solid forward signings we are not far off. But 2027 is make or break we have already had 15 shit seasons one more won't hurt worst case scenario. If we have a healthy season we are a top 8 team, especially with Luai gone.

The fact is he is skating by on his name and standing at the club, If this was Jim Dymock or Ben Hornby or some other random name, he’d be detested by the supporters for the job he’s done. There would be no ā€œI still think he has somethingā€. People want to believe that cos they love him as a legend of the club. But facts are facts. We are three years into his tenure, and he still brings nothing to the table on game day. He hasn’t grown into the role at all, and he’s not going to be the guy to break our finals drought. If he was anyone else, he’d already be out on his arse.

There is no doubt left. He has to go. He actually thought we played well yesterday and was very happy with the effort.

Says it all. To get a pass mark from the coach the players can piss around all game with minimal effort.

Also shows he doesn't have a tactical thought in his head. We had no idea what we were doing, or was horrible to watch. There were no positives. He was happy became we executed his game plan. His game plan is the problem

He can't coach
He can't recruit
He can't negotiate
He can't inspire
He's a horrible judge of talent
He's a Horton egoistic fool who thinks both he and his mates are all doing a good job.

He must be terminated, ASAP.

I've supported him for a few reasons. I thought he was a circuit breaker project that the club needed. I believe/ed his man management skills would assist in keeping and recruiting talent and creating an atmosphere that gets the best out of guys. His tactics and experience were obviously a cross against him but is something I thought he was developing in the first third of the season.

He has just about lost me though. The team (nearly full strength) are inept, lack resilience, confidence. There's no leadership, players aren't being utilised in ways that seem obvious and to have Doueihi back at 7 this week is a disgrace. Then to turn up in the presser and say he was happy with the effort and performance yesterday, glazing Doueihi's efforts.

At a minimum he needs an entirely new coaching staff.

Can’t recruit ? At what point prior to his appointment , were we getting early 20s talent well respected with massive upside from other clubs ; who didn’t have a stain against thier name ?
I’m looking at turuva , averillo ,the Fainus , KPP , I succinctly remember a time where we recruited Brandon Wakeham , Jackson Hastings and the ghost of BJ Leilua past (not all same year) and thinking if you squint maybe we win some games) .
Or peak Cleary when we chucked millions at McQueen , matulino , packer, Reynolds and Mbye .
I think you’re on drugs with that comment mate . Same for the can’t negotiate . Which talent have we gone after and not got ?
You could say he’s loyal to players who he shouldn’t be ; exhibit A this AD bullshit . I’d agree with you .
But guys like you have been waiting in the wings for ver since Madge got axed death riding Benji . Let’s be serious …
And sorry but Madge is a blister of a coach . He turns up when all the hard work is done .
And that’s pretty offensive , but it’s true . You work with it really well for a while , feels good even … you even get the work done even better . But at some point that blister is bursting and you’re left with intense pain and big infection you need to get rid of .
I genuinely think Benji has done the leg work . The team is there . He’s definitely the right ā€œManagerā€ for our club .
We now need much better day to day coaches implementing better strategies.
Ben Teo as 2ic is a good choice . A guys with probably as big of a career as Benji , definitely as big of an ego , and a new voice in the locker room .
I’d also look at Shane sultana moving up , if they can’t find someone more credentialed . With the amount of disruption to his team lists every week , he generally has that team humming , especially in attack.
You could say that’s more of the same , but I don’t think so . He would have zero input to anything going on in the nrl system .
