Coach of the year

What about Rick Stone from the Knights, if Newcastle manage to get into the Top 8 he definitely deserves a go, to have 2 key players in Wicks & Houston up on very very serious charges and not let it de-rail their season is a pretty fair effort.

They have pretty much the same squad as last year (which Brian Smith coached for most of the year) and ran 7th. What's so great about them doing it again this year?

LOL - youv'e gotta be joking!!!

He should be thanking the boys and Folkesy for the fact he still has a job!

Are you saying it's in spite of Sheens…..really?

Bellamy for mine .....Look at the way he's got the Storm up week in week out playing for nothing...Oh apart from $$$$$$$$$$$$

he is coaching an illegal squad.. i trust you were joking here.

i know we hate the Dragons but i'm surprised Bennett hasn't been mentioned.

Unless something extraordinary happens, i believe this award should always go to the coach of the minor premiers.

Aaahhh Yep…seems my sarcasm radar is on the blink!!!!

Bennett or Smith dark horse Cleary...

Bennett for me, he's got the dragons performing just about every weekend. Smith will be considered but I think the fact the roosters went from last to premiership contenders has more to do with Freedie's coaching than Smiths.

No not fully mate but he has made some god aweful selection blunders this year and at times has failed to get the side up for a game.

Tactically there are some major deficiencies with his plans as well.

He has done a good job of bringing through Fafita, Lui, Dwyer and Ayshford but I seriously dont think he's in the top 5 so far.

If he has something up his shirt saved for the finals then I'll certainly give him credit.

They normally give Coach Of The Year award to the coach of the team that improved the most don't they?

Minor premiership so what?? Look what happened to last year's minor premiers. (it would be prettty good to see the Tigers hold up the shield one day tho' )
