Coach scapegoat

He was sacked at Souths club that was a mess like Tigers Souths had sacked couple coaches ?? Oh we forgot that Easy blame coaches

Taylor got on the sauce and punched on with a player, Souths didn't really have a choice but to punt both of them.

Sacking the coach is a start. He hasn't been up to it at all and he handled himself with a complete lack of class since he got here.

I agree , thats definitely the place to start. There are a few other pieces to the puzzle but that's a very big one.
In every sport the world over, the buck stops with the head coach. Like it or not, it's the nature of the beast.
In saying that, there are a few players that need to be moved on aswell. The club must also get alot smarter about signing players on too much money for too long. That way clean outs are so much easier to put into action when needed.

I don't agree BBG. How come it's always the coach at this club. I'm certainly not saying I'm a JT fan, but what about the others that have been sent packing.
However I believe that the players are not playing their best under JT, but who will they play their best "under" Its all quite desperate isn't it :crazy

Taylor's not a Scapegoat , he's just a Goat !

He's bought all this on himself by trying to oust Farah from the start , then having to apologise to the playing group .
Taylor would have minimal support from the playing group despite what's said in the media .
His time here is just about up !

I wonder how we would be going this year if:
a) Robbie sucked it up and moved on like dozens of other players have dome over time
b) The club backed the coach and Farah was currently training with the part timers.

Probably worse than we are now if that is possible. I'm no Farah fan but he has been one of our better players throughout this period.

Well the playing group are obviously not playing for the coach so what's the answer oh great one ?

A part of me wishes the NRL would threaten the WTs that if we don't improve within a given time frame we are out to be replaced by a new franchise

I have already said in this thread the Coach is gone…We are now up to 3 Coaches in a row where the 'playing group' wouldn't play for them...there appears to be a pattern if I'm not mistaken...

If you believe a new Coach will be the solution..it's your shout for the popcorn in the land of unicorns and fairies....

When the going gets tough..they have an excuse...the Coach is a dud...OK..

A new coach would have them playing better than what they've dished up so far .
Does Taylor even have a game plan ?
I know for sure he doesn't have a half time speech .
I'm guessing an extra large popcorn ?!

Its not as if there aren't others screaming to be picked….

I think I am one of the few here that understands that you cannot just continually pick people from outside your 25 due to the second tier cap. But come on, if I was this coach fighting for my job. Id ensure my cap is totally depleted if it ensured some wins on the board....

These guys may have defensive issues or whatever it may be stopping them getting a first grade run, however the are excitement machines. Put them in and you may sill at least have a reason to put your hat out asking for members next year...

When you hear retir d players talk about "successful" coaches and what some of the main attributes were - - they all share one common line.
They are such great people managers that they make you want to play for them as much as the jersey.

No doubt the laying group let themselves and the fans down yesterday but a key missing ingrediant has been their From the start.

How ever anyone wants to dress it up or sugar coat it - the fact is there are not a lot of players in the NRL (individually or as a grou) that respect JT and regardless of how good he may be as a half back technician this was always going to fail.

Unfortunately that's close to the truth, they don't call him the "angry ant" for nothing, great player/competitor but except for a purple patch at Parr. has been disappointing as a Head Coach.
After saying that how many of our players would get a run in a top side?,our Forwards are basically a Reserve grade pack under the old system, all great Coach will say the same thing, that's where Games are won or lost.

I know the coach did not miss the tackles last night but surely he saw Milone enough to see he could not be a 1st grade player. Obviously he does not see this which shows his inability to coach.

What really makes me mad is that he never fires up in the press conferences, be it when we get stiff calls by the ref like last week it just seems he accepts it. I for one would have more respect if he showed he cared as much as the supporters. I have a two full season passes and last night thought how many games I really want to attend moving forward.

I will end up going but the lack of heart shown last night hurt more than the other 5 losses as they just didn't aim up.

JAC needed to be there as Noffa looked injured, rookies at the very least bring enthusiasm.

I like Brooks but he needs a spell in reggies to learn how to tackle and littlejohn needs a go to steady the ship of Rankin to five eight and JAC to the wing. Moses in my opinion is having a dig but size is his issue but good sides can carry that. We just are not a good side yet. Simona is back so into the centres bye bye Milone.

I'm 100% not making any excuses for the players
I also believe that JT is actually technically very sound
As a specialist coach like he was at the roosters - where he was responsible for the halves and only certain aspects of their game - he was very good.
But a head coach and that role is a completely different beast.
That's a skill set that not many people have.
Unfortunately when you don't have the respect of the playing group - it's never going to work and that's what we have here.

I'm not bashing JT for the sake of it.
Yes I'm not a fan of him personally, but professionally the way he has managed the group etc etc etc….. As I said months ago and now..... This was never going to work.

There is a reason his previous 2 clubs have sacked him as head coach i wonder what it could be?

I know he was sacked by Souths, what was the other club?

It was only Souths.

Thought so. If memory serves me right, he was interim coach with Parra and he did such a good job to get them to the finals that Rusty intervened to get signed to Souths. He then got Souths to the finals in 2007 for the first time since 1989.

He can coach.

I hope if Taylor is shown door he is able to unload and tell truth. After all the coaches we have blamed for our issues its time . these are professional footballers a coach does not cause a 60 point spread . I have no inside info but I do not blame Taylor for most of issues and I wonder wat type of coach will put his hand up next to help us ruin his career

Agree it's all too easy to blame the coach, how many coaches do we blame before we realise our squad is just not very good?

The commentary teams are enjoying the number of off loads in the Sharks v Panthers Game. I've seen more offloads in this game than in the season so for the WTs. Just a reminder of how dumbed down our Woods and Sironen have become as a result of the master coach.

More excuses for Siro. Yeah, the coach is to blame. Cos he was a beast under Potter wasn't he
