Coaches Corner

I never blamed Sheens.

Was stating that it is a poor look on the club that when we win games Sheens and Benji seem to be in the midst of the changerooms but, coincidently, when we are getting pasted on the field they are nowhere to be seen.
These 2 blokes are going to be responsible for the fortunes of our club for the next 5 years.
It just reeks of a

Noddy would be told who is to be selected each week.
Okay I get all that and agree with some tbh but at this point I don't care enough to argue with my fellow forumers about the state of this club.
It's too much to sit here year after year and overanalyse and question where we're going wrong, when the simple truth of the matter is that we've been unable to assemble a competitive enough roster.
We don't know enough about the administrative side of things. Though I thought releasing Luciano and Mikaele was dumb. But other than that, we're in the early stages of another rebuild and the cataclysmic results we're currently witnessing can all be attributed to not recruiting the right players.

A lot on here getting angry with the club about throwing Kimmorley under the bus and setting him up to fail by releasing players.

I’m just pointing out that he addressed that at the press conference and he was involved in that decision.

Personally, I’m with you that missing those players is no excuse for letting in 72 points. Especially Gildart…
For sure.
Wasn't have a go at you in my post👍

I'm not excusing anything infact I'm as disappointed as the next person and just putting it into perspective that our current situation is no different than Broncos (Bennett/Seibold) and Bulldogs (Pay, Barrett, Potter) in recent years - with a young roster and poor leadership/recruitment or coaching the main cause for obtaining the wooden spoon.
I'm not going to pretend a person who's been employed than less 12 months is at fault for this.
Do you hate them yet?
They do keep finding new ways of disappointing us.
I thought it couldn't get lower than the Tommy tribute.

Correct, but we are decidedly worse off now
No we aren't. Do you not remember losing 5 straight to start the season? Do you remember that Titans game? The Warriors game? Last round last season against the spooners? We were never trending upwards under Madge, and were always looking like getting the spoon this year. I don't think much would have changed if we kept him, but acting like it was a bad decision is so strange considering we were trending downwards his entire tenure. He should have been sacked last year. This year is a write off, and has been since the opening 5 rounds.

I hear you SWS but I think everyone really loves the club and are just throwing out all sorts of ideas on how it could be better.
Some would work, some would not but the footy creed is, and always will be, the club is bigger than the individual.
We just want something to cheer about !
100 percent. Just being cheeky 😉

I might think different to most on this but I have no problems with Sheen & Benji not taking over the coaching this year..
Sheen would be shit deep in organising not only the playing group but also a development structure for Benji etc..
There would be no point in him going out there and us losing due to a massive amount of players we have out as all that would do is put doubt in the players minds and also the media would have a field day over the off season.

I know it hard but come Nov when pre-season starts and players arrive (excluding WC players ) they all come in with a whole new structure and culture to set. This would be lead by Hastings, AD, Api, Papa and even Twal etc..

With regards to letting Gildart and Nofo go I think its a very smart move to create cap space for 2 players most likely playing reserves. For all we know this money has gone to Brooks to reduce his final years salary which helps moving forward what ever way we go.
* Very disappointing though about the comments these 2 guys are saying especially Gildart considering he is no where near top grade and even I could look good in a Roosters team with like 12 rep players around.. Its a lot easier to set a standard when you have a top line squad and can afford to drop players with rep players to replace them. E.g. "No salary cap"

BUT I do also believe Sheen's needs to come out and speak to media and give them an update on whats happening (no players his looking to sign etc) because to the average supporter they think we are a dogs breakfast but there is a method to the madness.

Anyway just my thoughts in the very tough time been a supporter

Mikaele was playing more KOE Cup than first grade. Luciano played like he didn't want to be here in his last 2 or 3 games for the club.

They make me sorry.
It's not our club standards our values why Laurie, Toa or Naden can't play at the same quality as Suali, Manu or Tedesco.
I can admit I hate our recruitment though.

It was a terrible decision because we had no back strategy.
They tried to tickle Ciraldo’s balls and he politely told them he didn’t fly like that….and that was it. No plan B.
We are certainly worse off

Keep shit in house.
Love walking around telling the media how good we are, who we are targeting, the board giving each other reach arounds daily.
Gus just gets the target.
We got outplayed by that fat slug. Smh

And unfortunately despite us coming to the end of the last five year plan put in place by Marina Go (a serious loss to the organisation as a genuine leader) we are no better off and will wait another five years before we are something resembling a force.
