I'm just throwing this out there…... I know we all get frustrated with sheensy at times but in all honesty, with the exception of Bellamy, Bennett and hasler ( all of whom we are currently no chance of getting) are there actually any other coaches out there worth targeting? We have been through the lamb debacle and don't want to sink to thosewvels again. I can't really think of anyone but am more then open to suggestions???

Bellamy is a myth! I'm pretty sure the record books have him down for zero GF wins. He was a massive failure as the NSW coach and with slater, smith and cronk at the Storm my 9 year old niece would be a success as their coach.
Sheens may be crazy at times but he's still better than most other coaches out there barring Bennett and Hasler.

Bellamys no myth, and you believe what you want to believe about the two premierships. plus the one they would have won in 2010.
Nobody who could coach could his side up with a half their side average first graders.
The Queensland side is a sensational side full of the best of the best in their positions .
We had Steve Folkes here, he is one of the top coaches we could have had .
So on your theory on Sheens , does he have a job for life with Wests .or just until another top coach comes along ?

I agree whole heatedly that Bellamy is a myth , only time he succeeded was on the back of salary cap rorting …...

As for other coaches , I think Steve Folkes and Peter Gentle are the only 2 out their which I would have succeed Sheens . Steve Folkes has runs on the board ..... And Peter Gentle is a great operator , just ask anyone who was around Wests magpies late 90s to last year .

Jason Taylor could be an option going forward -anyone who could get the rabble that was souths to the finals and have parra win more then half their games surley can coach

club =/= origin

Bellamy is GREAT, he helped create and maintain their club system that has produced so many quality first graders, sure they were over the cap but the amount over was created by his development (it wasn't like they went out and bought a stack of established first graders).

No coach has been able to get NSW to win a series since Joey retired from the game.

There is mail to say Taylor is waiting to take kearneys job at Parra. I can recall a few guys in here wanting Kearney to coach the Tigers at one stage .

You're probably right there betto, about there not being a better coach available, but I would just be interested to see how the team and individual playmakers, like Benji, would go under a different coaching style. Sometimes I feel that the relationship between Sheensy and the team is a bit stale after 10 years. A change can make a world of difference, sometimes, and if there is someone out there who can coach the team to play a more structured style that results in consistent team performances each week, then I'd be all for that change.

And to those who think Bellamy is a myth, as a coach, you are kidding yourselves!

I think Kearney would do a fantastic job with our roster! He is the type of guy we need. He has no stable player base at the eels and has been left to move on the dead wood. He can turn them around but won't be given the time he needs to do so.

Best scenario for both teams would be to swap coaches in my opinion.

Rambo correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't gentle from cronulla before wests tigers? He wasn't around the magpies?

Apart from Bennett and Hasler, the only person I think is good enough to coach our guys is our assistant coach, Steve Georgallis. Did well at the Panthers and the players there wanted him to stay. Flanagan from the sharks has done an exceptional job, could be an outsider pick for me. I really dont see any other coach in the NRL or super league good enough to coach our team.

Tiger logic…. He may have done a stint there but was around Wests in the late 90s, and I am presuming that he has been involved with Wests since then ..... I'm pretty sure that he was coach of the SG ball winning team of 2002.

I have been impressed listening to Daniel Anderson on the ABC. As you would imagine he has a very good football brain and seems to be a good communicator but in saying that I think coaches get far to much fired at them when a team suffers a loss and on the other hand far to much credit when a team wins. I think the only reason you would consider a change in Tiger town if their was evidence that the players were becoming stale of Sheens. I have said before that maybe this squad of players have maybe peaked and now on the decline, to me they lack brute power and speed. Time will tell
