I'm just loving Geoff "Skippy" Huegill, what a massive effort, losing 45kgs for a great comeback and a silver

medal! Champion!!!

hear hear…what an inspiring effort!!

He looks really fit and really happy.

What about Alicia Cootes..

Gold Gold Gold…

And Anna Mears in the cycling...she could play Rugby League I reckon...broken neck...pfffft

Yeah, Geo, the girls are going great in the pool, as usual, especially the new golden girl, Alicia.

As for Anna Mears, she sure is one tough cookie and deserves all the gold she can win!

The 100m sprint was just a disgrace. The whinging pommie princes should have been disqualified and what was the

point of England protesting anyway, the princess ran last!

Totally gutted for Sally, what a rollercoaster ride of emotions she had to go through for four hours! I just want to

give her a big hug. :frowning:

Theres hope for you yet, Kingy!

(

The other English woman ran 4th and so was bumped up to highly prestigious position of Commonwealth Games Bronze medalist…

Very disappointed for Sally Pearson being stripped of the gold medal for the women's 100m sprint. That race was handled so poorly by the officials, firstly one of the English runners was ruled to have false started ahead of Pearson, she was red carded but complained and still allowed to run, and then Pearson wins fair and square from the re-start only to have another pom spit the dummy and complain. Hope she wipes the floor with them in the hurdles.

is the rule that only the first one who falsely starts is disqualified or is it anyone who falsely starts is disqualified?

I think its first person hence the kerfuffle over the 0.01 seconds difference between Pearson and English woman. But since they protested post event after the English woman had been pulled out they in theory had her DQed for no reason. So England had a point in protesting that too but what did they expect would happen if it got upheld?

Anyway Pearson will win the hurdles unless the same rubbish happens and let's face it, it's the Comm Games. She'll get over it.
