Concerning lack of depth

Our lack of forward depth is a disaster.

We were nearly at full strength tonight forward wise (just Hunt out), and we did not even have a player who was seen as 'worthy' to put on. Sukkar came into the team and got zero minutes.

We need to sign 2-3 forwards at a minimum. KPP would be great as a front line, but even guys like Lane (who I deem average) as a depth signing would be useful to put in for when we have injuries. Had we been able to utilise our bench tonight, I think we probably win that game tonight. At 26-22 we had a set on the line and 3 tired forwards ran 3 very soft/tired runs as they had all played big minutes

Depth is a big concern and it has been for a long time. We really need to add some experienced forwards to our top 30 if we can this season, but especially for next year.

Yeah, we’re not laying a platform and the end result is the spine and outside backs play poorly.

We only have 28 players at the moment and a few of them are playing below NSW Cup level so it’s not a surprise we are lacking in depth.

Need to fill those spots and forget about frontloading contracts like we seem to do every year.

Yep has always looked short in depth (although most clubs are). We have 2 empty top 30 spots, Galvin who we couldn't play, Tumeth, Matamua who aren't even making nsw cup, Saukuru, Hunt, Skelton out with injury so effectively only 22 of top 30 available for selection this week

We need a better balanced top 30

We've got players like;
Matamua - unlikely to play first grade again.
Tumeth - will never play first grade.

Our depth should be;
Seyfarth, Sukkar and the likes.

We will shake a few of these guys come end of year and hopefully replace with genuine depth.

Where is Tim Johansson ? We ass Skelton and Hunt to that team tonight and we win , add Latu and we win by 20.. we were well on top until a few certain incidents that our lack of depth just could not handle .. at full strength we have a footy team

We are very thin on depth. Skelton and Hint are massive losses. We can’t cover Galvin with douihiei also.
We had the momentum when Hunt normally would have come on. They marched downfield and made it 10-10. Never recovered.

Fair point I think the lads lost their heads today tbh. Team needs work Skelton, Taylan May, Latu Fainu and perhaps KPP from Knights and we may do well. I still think we need players. Galvin was a massive distraction

Just a perfect storm w the Galvin nonsense, Moses' return, some horrendous refereeing ( worst since the Kasey Badger nightmare vs Dogs last year) and Douehi in the halves. A lot to overcome.

He is barely making Reggie’s.

It really reminds me of raw. In the sense of daine Laurie (with dreads) plenty of excitement , but still so much work to be up to grade.

Been going on about the lack of depth since the pre season ….And even mentioned this same example of Tony Sukkar when he played a couple of weeks ago…. Nothing personally against Sukkar who is a developing player and might have an NRL career ahead of him … but when he is first cab off the ranks now for forward depth, there is something extremely going wrong … they need a couple of NRL experienced forwards now … not next year …even if they are just temporary additions for the rest of the season…the backs aren’t much better with Naden and Faataape as the first go to guys

There were games last year when they had 5 of more of their Top 17 out… going to be very messy if/when that happens …only three were missing yesterday ..

Perfect point. I am not sure what happens there. People cheered when we let go of Bateman and IPap but we were already short in the 2RF before that. I don't rate late Lane, Bryce Cartwright etc, but any of these guys like that would be okay for depth for 6 months. They probably make our 17 tbh.

Totally agree they would walk straight into out 17, until we can find away to replace both Alex's in our 17
we will always struggle in my eyes.
