Some of my missus workmates.have gone from $1500 fortnight to $750 a fortnight.... Seems there's now two tiers one at 1200 and the other 750 fortnight... Missus hasn't got her payslip yet but they were all f/t and shouldve gone to the 1200 tier.... They very worried and hoping it's a mistake

https://www.ato.gov.au/General/JobKeeper-Payment/JobKeeper-extension-announcement/

If they were working more than 20 hrs back in March they should be on $1200 a fortnight.

Yeah I know that why I think it's a mistake they were all full time 76 hrs f/n

had they been at the job for 12 months prior Ink

Missus and two workmates all three years

Doesn't make sense all I can think of is their company didn't provide the proper declaration to the ATO

The payment doesn’t come from the ATO, it comes from the Company first and then the Company gets reimbursed by the ATO. The Company just has to keep the appropriate records and declare each employee monthly to ensure the Company gets reimbursed correctly. Sounds like a payroll error.

Yeh I know but the company has to nominate the rate of pay or the tier their employees fsllnder to the ATO afaik... I'm hoping it's an error there but I'm also wondering if its an intentional mistake

One would hope the company isn’t paying the lower rate to its employees and claiming the higher rate from the ATO.

It wouldn't surprise if it's the latter mate. There's been some very hinky dealings with the JobKeeper and the lengths companies have gone to

Would be better than Scotty from Marketing.

The Budget once again leaves the less off trailing further behind.

I'm hoping the same but wouldn't be surprised

In the early days I heard of 2 people - one getting JobKeeper from Virgin after getting laid-off and working another job full-time. The other was a ghost employee (wife) for tax purposes - now getting JobKeeper.
The Liberals are quick to pointout a problem with a Labor scheme (in some cases rightly so) but in most cases will never admit to an error or a problem. Their winding back JobKeeper and JobSeeker is going to cause huge social problems in the months ahead.

In Queensland, the border closure is a joke. How they have defined boundaries, working boundaries, temporary boundaries, etc etc is just a joke. They are misaligned with the rest of Australia, but whats new. There isnt a brain cell between them. Listen to these names for stupidity and corruption.... Palaszczuk, Steven Miles, Kate Jones, Jackie Trad, Yvette D'ath, Mark Bailey, Mark Ryan.

A complete and utter bunch of Deadsh***

And to show I'm fair, the other side ain't much better, if at all. I moved from NSW 10 or 12 years ago and cannot believe the people who run what could be the greatest place to live. Sure, I can move back but unfortunately work does not allow that

The border policy, flip flop, 28 days free for NSW but we will wait a while blah blah blah. Its 100% politics and no one will convince me otherwise. I shake my head at what will happen with the election coming up.

The PM told states to make their own calls on policies and borders.

We now have a confusing mix of borders and approaches to either living with covid or eradicating it.

To make matters worse, it's being used as a political football by anyone and everyone, including the Murdoch media.

The Federal Govt has the power to take over border control within the country. Scotty doesn't want to rock the boat. But then why would he - with every man and his dog blowing smoke up his rear end on what a great job he is doing why risk changing anything. We'll see how things pan out in 6 to 12 months when the country has gone further downhill economically and the social impact has destroyed businesses and families. Scotty will have to pull all the tricks out of his marketing tool bag then.

Agree that many of the decisions and public displays of applause/criticism are motivated by political gain rather than sound policy.

You won't be around to pay off the debt that the LNP will leave the country. China's economic growth has slowed and we've whored off public assets worth a dime already so the Howard model won't work.

Bitched about the 160b debt the ALP left, and then trebled it in two terms. Still Labor's fault apparently.

Whinged about the ALP NBN plan, did a tin can variant, and will now spend more getting it up to what the ALP originally proposed because Murdoch finally got his hands on some streaming services.

They have condemned a generation to austerity, and that was before COVID. We could have nationalised our minerals and had a future fund like Norway, but no, we have to keep Gina the Hutt happy.

Don’t worry the QLD boarders will open after the election. Miraculously the policy will change to getting the QLD economy moving.
