3 locally acquired cases in NSW and over 30,000 tested in the 24hrs. Numbers heading in the right direction. Testing numbers need to remain high to ensure contact tracing stays ahead of any unknown sources.

Croydon and Wollongong cases are link to the Avalon cluster.

Good testing numbers in NSW. Kerry Chant asking for even greater testing which indicates NSW is going hard at the virus. Compare this action to the just over 13k for the last two days in Vic. You can see Chant also emphasising a test result is just a point in time. Also she highlights the need for exit testing. To me it is very impressive.

Chairman Dan has left the building .. gone fishing , only Labor leaders can go on holidays in times of crisis without being criticised and persecuted. Shuts the boarder down and goes on holidays and now Victorians are waiting up to 9 hrs to cross the boarder .. How’s the fishing Chairman Dan ?

I admire the brilliant mind of Dr Chant. The Vics are basically copying Chant's strategy of high testing rates and contact tracing. The Vic testing rates are a concern which may not provide an accurate picture of the spread of the virus in Vic.

The Commonwealth could really assist by providing additional pathology capacity in all States.

The outbreak in Vic may have started from a Vic resident not isolating for the full 14 days.

Interestingly, Chant made mention of the virus being detected in NB residents in isolation on days 11 onwards. Her advice I am sure was intended for other States. I read one State quaratined identified close contacts for only 10 days. She is very clever.

Oh come on, she's not the first to come up with the notion that extensive testing is the best path forward. All chief medical health officers are of the same opinion. Im not bagging her. Im just saying that she's heading down the same path that QLD have, Vic have - they all have. Testing is key. The message only gets through when there's an outbreak in a given area. At some point, unless borders are closed internationally for a much more extensive period, there'll be an outbreak that will outdo the capacity for containment with our current policy direction. Each and every leader is flying by the seat of their pants right now. I personally think businesses have to accept that they're gonna have to adapt to a changed world trading dynamic. And so do governments. The general population have to accept that moving around the globe so freely isn't an acceptable practice whilst the pandemic is about. Of course, punters won't like that. But the alternative is going to be the equivalent of trying to unscramble an egg.

What absolute rubbish - the guy put in every day for months during Victorias worst days. I'm sure he just loved getting in front of the cameras every day to announce another death. He did the hard yards in time of crisis and didn't take a break until the job was done. Unlike the clown who runs the country who thought a holiday in Hawaii was good idea while the country burned.

Oh diedpretty ur a left leaning fool , chairman dan killing over 800 people with his left leaning politics . And the PM can’t intervene in state issues and he did provide great resources to the states during the fires .

There are irreconcilable differences between NSW and the other States over policy in dealing with Covid 19. You just cannot keep circling the wagons as per Qld or mandating harsh lockdowns as per Vic. Both States have the highest unemployment in the land. NSW remains open earning $ for Aust. WA with its iron ore is also performing well. There is no comparison between NSW, Vic and Qld.

This is , the type of thought process I don’t understand . Partisan bull crap. Vic did a good job . Why do you have to lean one way politically to acknowledge that. The people were a bunch of morons early on , where the value they put in family functions , and protests that had very little to do with Australia , were put above the health of the person standing next to them .

I think our leaders , whatever political party , have done a great job Australia wide . Only small portions of the country have had to lock down at any one time , where as NZ , the universally praised country worldwide, have locked the whole joint down twice .

Everyone should be happy with what our leaders have done , and how each person , by the most part has bought in .

Even that chick in qld , who to me , is just grandstanding , is actually doing what her people want . My whole family are from up there , and none have a bad word to say . Which says to me that her state is behind her, however much I personally disagree .

No leader has killed anyone in this country

It is the total disregard that some people have for this Virus, Authority and the rules that are set in place to protect us all that should be held accountable

Even the Ruby Princess passengers who contracted the virus caught this from a passenger who boarded in another country
Letting these passengers disembark was a mistake
But it is not the only path of this virus into this country
We all have our part to play in halting the spread of this virus
There are many people in this country who do not want to play their part because they are to naive or because they think they are invisible
You only need to go back to the beginning of this topic on the furum to see the differing views we all have
That is human nature, we all have our own views but in this case we should be listening to the experts
Unfortunately it only takes one person with the virus who believes they have the right to continue as normal, and before you know it there is a cluster outbreak
Now boarders are shut again and Businesses and people are suffering again
This virus is here for the next ten years or more
We just need to learn and know how to control its spread
We all play a part in that

@Snake you must be happy. Masks mandatory for inside venues and public transport from Midnight tonight. $200 fines from Monday if not wearing one.

This will change rapidly from March 1 when the job keeper is scrapped ,then these states will have to live with it . The bludging of the Feds and tax payers will be over , things certainly would be different if the Feds were not carrying these states .
Let’s see what real leadership will be like having to live with this virus .. maybe they can ring Glad for advise!

At the very least, it will require a review of their settings in Qld.

For information, NSW has 12 Covid cases diagnosed in hotel quarantine. 97 cases over the lasr 2 weeks. Tge other States combined have had 76 over the last 2 weeks.

Dan Andrews mandated masks when he had 450 cases on one day.

Gladys had 7 cases.

Vic tested 13k plus on two days and 18k plus today. Vic Health Minister congratulates Vic public.

NSW Health tested 27k plus one one day and near 32k on remaining two days. Kerry Chant requires a greater effort.

I was replying to BPtiger who suggested Dan Andrews had killed 820 people because of his policies. His post made me angry with such a stupid comment. I was using his way of thinking to show how stupid it was.

As much as I wanted to attend I’ve just sent my apologies as it’s too late to get a test and results. Would hate to be that person to spread to my family members, especially with elderly attending... I’m expecting some backlash as many of my extended family are anti restrictions/masks etc...

I hope that you and your family member recover quickly from whatever it is you have. You are doing the right thing in not attending the wedding even if some of your relatives dont realise it.Unfortunately it is people like them who spread the pandemic without regard for anybody else and they will never admit to being the root cause of why it is hard to control the virus.
Stay safe.

Yeah it's not worth the risk, you're doing the right thing. Things like weddings are the perfect spreading events.
