Not a good look, especially after Scomo's trip has been questioned.

It'd be nice if we stopped foreign nationals entering the country. 10,000 people came here in April for business or holiday. No wonder Australians can't get home, the borders are wide open for everyone.

1000% correct although i think that ship has sailed.

Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) is still available to give to the whole world whilst they wait for the vaccine, at almost zero risk.....

Up till this point in time I have basically scrolled through most anti jab type posts.
But now, the more I read about Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) the more I like the sound of it @Tiger5150 .
I've had my 1st AZ jab and am not really looking forward to having a 2nd jab...Pfizer maybe, but not AZ.
How do we obtain Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective)?

You can find it online. But I wouldnt suggest you do this blindly.

I am talking to my doctor about it a couple of weeks. I suggest you do the same.

Cochise and yourself have suggested the same thing.
I had zero side effect from the 1st jab, so as you both suggested I will talk to my Dr. when I am due for my 2nd jab in late Aug.

For what its worth i would strongly suggest you talk to your doctor about the 2nd shot.I am far from an expert but will be having my 2nd AZ shot in about 5 weeks.I understand it is not a perfect solution but it is my best case scenario. There is an awful lot of misinformation surrounding the whole covid situation and has been from the begining.
Stay safe mate

Japan probably wonders how we became a developed nation.

Compared to the rest of the world our region has done very well, not just Australia but out neighbours. Unfortunately now though it is really starting to rip through our region, places like Fiji, PNG. And Indonesia is starting to look like India did a couple of months ago. 31,000 cases in Indonesia in last 24 hours and over 700 deaths (true number likely much higher due to very low testing)

I saw this article on the BBC news today and thought that some here might be interested in it. It's not a particularly difficult read.

Off the back of wide-spread vaccinations, the UK government have decided to return to more normal settings and to accept that Covid 19 will be a part of life for the foreseeable future. The response from our government seems to echo this view, but we, of course, are still well behind the UK atm in respect of vaccinations.

The article also discusses an inevitable (but short term) surge in cases when restrictions are relaxed and the optimum timing for allowing that surge to occur.

Indonesia has been bad for a long while, they just don't have the infrastructure to deal with it or count the numbers correctly. Their numbers would be seriously higher than what is reported.

She says she wants this lockdown to be the last for nsw.... i dont reckom it will be, it will go full circle again with a new strain and will keep going until we get vaccinated imo

Tigers players need to get vaccinated so they can stop social distancing in defence...

Perhaps nofo can get corona so he can isolate on his wing for once

Off course it wont be the last time and even if we do get as close to a full vaccination you will still get outbreaks. We are so far behind the civilised world in vaccinations it is embarrasing to tell people you are in Australia.Eventually Covid will mutate into something benign but there is no way of knowing how many years that will take.
The "Liar from the Shire" fails his people badly just like he does with climate change

I know the gist of what you are saying, but i feel sorry for you if you're saying it's embarrassing to say you're in Australia. It must be terrible to feel that way.

The rule supposedly is she has to be there and the Qld Govt has buried a heap of money into the 2032 bid .....

My problem is Olympics don't seem that big a deal anymore ....lot of Stadiums like Chandler and QEII stadium will need major upgrades ......someone might have a clue how much Sydney made .....58.6 billion as quoted seems extremely unrealistic .......my opinion ...this could end up being a huge farce for Qld / Australia profits wise .....

Yep, this is the lockdown you have when you're not having a lockdown. It seriously should have been locked down properly, none of this half arsed crap. Then maybe we would have been free at midnight Friday, now it will drag on for another week at least.

I think all retail should be closed if we are going to have this lockdown, maybe we could be ending it soon if people weren't at the shops.

I'd be furious if I was a small business that had to close while K Mart can stay open. If k mart is "essential", everything is essential.

The last 2 weeks, we have lost 95% of our business as we service the hospitality sector for most of our work.
