It was mentioned this morning on 9 the Government may introduce tougher restrictions based on geographical location.

If this is still a problem at the next election I will vote for any local MP candidate that promises to blow the M4 bridge, Victoria Bridge, Bells Line of Road and Springwood Road if they are elected.

Greens, One Nation, Christian Democrats, Animal Justice Party... I don't care who. They will get my vote.

We don't want you guys down here anyway 😛

@Radoush - did you read my post above where I showed how the number of deaths increased in 2020 within Sweeden. This is in the context of a falling mortality rate.

Can you read that ? Is 97k more than 88k. Why did the number of deaths increase in 2020 ? I think it's definitely statistically relevant and even more so because the mortality rate in Sweeden has been decreasing year on year. If it wasn't COVID that led to a significant increase in the number of people dying what was it ?

The population of countries change all the time thats why they they do it as a percentage your not to quick at mathematics

You are correct in this point but you have the broad picture completely incorrect. Do you think 14k people died of COVID in Sweeden ? Did anyone die from COVID who wouldn't have died that year from some other cause ?

His whole premise is nonsense but he doesn't want to look at the flaws in his reasoning.

It's a large increase.

The problem is that the data isn't available to prove his point but unfortunately the data isn't available to disprove his point. The only figure I can see if COVID deaths which appear really high.

I've already stated that because they have a high vaccine rate they are in a really good position going forward.

We need broken down statistics. We need all cause of death for the previous years and immigratio/births broken down by age etc.

He is just picking one figure to support his view.

It's the way of the world now. You don't engage to try and get to the truth. You engage to back up your emotional opinion.

Everyone is an essential worker from the chippies to the barista to the nurse to the hairdresser it all forms part of the community civil unrest is starting and it's a dangerous think people are angry this won't end well

And image you have a family and bills to pay kids to feed and you can't go to work but your neighbours can how unfair is that and how angry will you become hits going to hit the fan

ROFL Hairdresser, Chippie and a Barista as an essential worker….. you are very funny. Lost all credibility with that one. I’m very sure people can go without a haircut, a coffee and abit of housework for a few weeks. They aren’t essential in your terms because of the government covid payment. Bills also can be deferred as internet, utility, banks and co are all offering non payment periods for those impacted. Some providers are offering free periods of service as well.

add reduction in costs due to no travel and I’m sure cost wise most will be fine (not much of a noise has come out about not being paid yet which says its working).

Its simple if people actually did the right thing Sydney wouldn’t still be in a lockdown. Look at VIC 2 weeks of lockdown and they are free tomorrow. Police don’t roam the streets people are just respectful of why it happens and of the short term disadvantage which will be worse than the longer term. Same day ironically nsw has its highest numbers.

Apart from the lockdowns, tomorrow covid will have the most influence on my life thus far as we won't be able to say goodbye in person to a relative and friend who passed at the grand age of 99 last week.

Still, I suppose that we are lucky to live in an age where we can at least join in on a digital platform. For a bit of levity at this sad time and @Snake, the guy we will be farewelling is Joe Blake.

Mate, I am sorry to hear that. My cousin died last year and I couldn't attend her funeral in QLD, it was really tough. Thoughts with you mate.
