A QR code is a restriction?

Your right only a surveillance tool which can lead to restrictions if one has been earshot of a positive case even though vaccinated.

What a load of nonsense.

If your familiar with the words decency/good manners and the psychology connected with those words [and I am sure you are] you would realise that you just cannot say that another persons thoughts or feelings are nonsense [or rubbish... as a few on here like to fling around].
We are all entitled to think and feel what we do, whether we are right or wrong.
As a mod on here I would have thought one of the requirements to be a mod is that you show posters **respect**, no matter how wrong you feel they are.
I suggest in future you say "I disagree very strongly" or similar.
************
Yeh but this is a footy forum and we're tough guys so crapping on other peoples feelings and thoughts is allowed.
Correct?

He might think its nonsense?

Indeed I do, I mean people need to seriously have a good think about how much in the way of resources the government has if they think they've got the resources to conduct surveillance on you based on QR code usage. It just isn't feasible...

Here is one serious issue with location data, and QR codes could just as easily be used in this way (though I am not suggesting they are at the moment):
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/04/13/us/google-location-tracking-police.html

The Gov already know everything about you .. if you have a Medicare card / driver license/ TFN you are not hiding much .Who cares if they know I went to the Sportys at Bankstown .
Maybe men might not like them knowing there in the local knock shop in case the partner finds out !

The story in the link was about location data being used in a dragnet way, leading to innocent people being treated as suspects in investigations based on that.

Good to see a lot of logical conversation has returned to this thread. Quality stuff.

These are all interesting concepts in their own ways and creepy. Not what I initially bought this up for which is relating directly to QR codes are they are used for Covid mitigation and the idea one could face relative house arrest if at the wrong place at the wrong time being in proximity to a positive case as I mentioned in my previous post.

However what you bought up is true. In the not too distant future with quantum computers, AI and 5G and the internet of things any surplus identifiers and information we give to the government could create issues at the very least give rise to conspiracy theories.

And as I mentioned in a previous post with link ,Professor Spurrier the CMO of SA wanted QR codes for check in to remain after the pandemic for "future pandemics ".
No wonder some people have conspiracy theories.

But as I said it's off topic but connected in a loose way

Professor Spurrier also suggested South Australian AFL spectators should not catch the football when kicked in to the crowd for fear of germs and covid
Not real bright that one

Surveillance tool.. you wouldn’t by chance be posting using a phone ?

He's perfected the Benji step

I'd like Gladys to halt the spin and admit it is not possible to ease restrictions' The Far West is on the verge of a disaster, hospital cases are surging, Covid infections numbers are far too high and that behaviour needs to change in many areas, most of all the areas of concern.

I have no doubt Kerry Chant is well aware of why numbers will not go down in those areas as she was raised in the South West.

10% of Wilcannia have COVID. Transpose that to Greater Sydney, that's half a million people infected.

Seven people dead in the last 24 hours. Hold on to your hats, as that is going to get waaaaaay worse in the coming fortnight.

Bruz Barilaro has already gone ahead and done that by blaming Wilcannia for their own mess, despite the local police going into bat for the them. The same Barilaro whose daughter has flaunted COVID rules twice and then believes she should be entitled to privacy while sending out terror police on comedians who point out his corrupt behaviour. Crooked to no end that prick.

One of our country based members suggested Covid infections in towns followed the path of an individual conducting business with his product carefully concealed.

Wouldn't happen to be a cheap product that seems to be causing a lot of regional towns a lot of problems would it?

I'm out for 14 days. I am considered a close contact and will have to get tested every three days. I've had my initial test and results will be in prior to midnight. My two sons as well who will not be able to visit their mother for 14 days.

Well that sucks for all involved.

Sorry if you acted on the quote notification earlier and saw no text @pawsandclaws1 but I had an issue with the keyboard on my tablet and seems to be working okay after a short turn off.

gee mate that's no good at all. I really hope it works out ok for you all.

My sister in law (and her partner) is also in the same situation. All because someone who she works closely with daily, tested positive about not following the singles bubble rules correctly. They are 3 tests in - negative so far.

My sons are relaxed. Work is fine with it.

My barrister is a close contact of a colleague who has tested positive. I sat in a room with my barrister and solicitor all day. At least we achieved our aim and defeated the outlaws for the spoils of our life. They're a disgrace. My sons will reap the benefit.

I was thinking that your son may have hooked up with his matchmaking relative's associate that could have been exposed.

Israel, with a similar population to NSW, reported 16.629 cases today and 43 deaths. 80% of the population are vaccinated and are already giving 3rd booster doses.
