So you’re saying at some point we have to let every new variant rip though the community. We had over 100 deaths during the last wave and that was during lockdown.

I suspect that eventually further lockdowns would become so unpopular that the government of the time would be hesitant to enforce them to the level they have in the past. Especially if the vaccines still work, but are just less effective.

Maybe I'm completely wrong. I'm no Nostradamus. But it feels to me that the community's enthusiasm for proper lockdowns is waning.

I thought they said once you got above 90% vaccinated that lockdowns would be no more

"They" didn't. Scummo and Gladbags did. So it can safely be ignored as self-interest and lies. That's all they do.

So yes someone said it. Thanks for confirming.

And, if you want to believe them, go for your life.

What’s your go mate?

I didn’t say I believed them or not. I also didn’t take a stance either way. I simply asked a question.

Chill.

100 deaths WITH covid Swag, WITH.. I mean let’s make sure we stay true to science here and not just assume these people had no, or multiple other co morbidity’s. We don’t want to be alarmist. Have you ever known of anyone who died of Flu, WITH cancer?

It all depends on how bad the variant is. If it’s resistance to vaccines we can’t just let it rip.

I know. But what happens if there's another variant next year and the year after? It doesn't seem implausible considering recent history.

So you're saying at some point we have to let every new variant rip though the community. We had over 100 deaths during the last wave and that was during lockdown.

You can not have anymore lockdowns you want 10 percent intrest rates people killing them self domestic abuse life just has to go on let it burn it self out it

it will be the lesser or two evils

I think the government would start implementing restrictions if we getting the virus and starts infecting 1000+ people are the day. The longer we do nothing if the virus gets into Australia the higher the numbers per day will go up. So I guess you're will to have up to 10'000 plus cases a day if it means we stay out of lockdown. Some countries in Europe have 60'000 a day. And those are only the confirmed cases.

If American states had 10's of thousands of deaths a day then what makes you think we won't get to that point. Our hospitals were almost at breaking point during the last wave. What makes you think they will be able to stand the wave if we let it rip. We can't get help from overseas this time.

How ridiculous is it that we’re still pretending that the PCR testing that’s known to be flawed (i mean the CDC literally acknowledged it publicly what.. 6 months ago, or more?) is ‘accepted science’??
Add to that the fact that every ‘COVID DEATH’ (as identified by a flawed PCR technology) is recorded as that regardless of any and all pre existing illnesses. Literally all chronic cancer patients that pass with a positive PCR analysis are statistically recorded as COVID DEATHS.
This stuff is common knowledge and yet 18 months in we still have alarmist people shitting themselves over the fake numbers.
EMBARRASSING

The new covid strain seems to be spreading fairly quickly with 2 cases confirmed in the UK from people who have recently been to southern Africa(BBC website). There have already been cases confirmed in other parts of Europe and Middle East including Israel and i have seen a report which said parts of Asia (Singapore? or Hong Kong?).
The UK is returning to mandatory face masks in all shops and public transport as of next week, this from a country that never got covid fully in control but just had a reduced rate of infection.

PCR testing works great. The data on COVID deaths is more than likely understated.

Happy to hear alternative views but you need links and data to back up what you are stating. If you aren't doing that you are simply spreading misinformation which is what you are doing.

https://www.tga.gov.au/covid-19-testing-australia-information-health-professionals

PCR test which is still currently the gold-standard in SARS-CoV-2 diagnosis.

It's a concern. We need some time to determine how bad this variant is.

For all the anti-vaxxers out there apparently this mutation occurred within an unvaccinated individual. I personally thought the argument stating that this could happen was pretty weak but it appears to have happened.

I think Australia has cases already as well.
