Although the CDC 2019 nCoV Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel filled an important unmet need when it was developed and deployed in early 2020, the demand for this test has declined due to the authorization of higher-throughput alternatives and multiplexed assays that detect both SARS-CoV-2 and other common respiratory pathogens simultaneously. For this reason, CDC will discontinue the 2019 nCoV Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel after December 31, 2021.

As the test is still performing very well,

In layman terms what has happened is that the test has been improved so they are phasing out one test and adding in another test. The initial test though is still performing well.

There is no issue at all from a layman's perspective and if you think there is you don't understand the science and therefore you shouldn't comment on it.

I think if you look hard enough there’s a message there FT. I’ll admit that my old mate Earl rubbed me up the wrong way from the start with his condescending stigmatisation (Pro freedom / Anti science) implying that anyone that objects to the human and social rights aspect of this issue is inherently devoid of any capacity for science. I take your point in that two wrongs don’t make a right, but there’s a big part of me that believes fiercely in the importance of calling this kind of ignorance out, and I make no apology for that.
I’m not going to lie, I don’t like what Earl’s about because he comes off as though he has a mortgage on what’s correct or incorrect based on ‘accepted science’. The truth is that there is unlimited science out there that is supported by top scientists and doctors worldwide that is systematically ignored by the ‘accepted mainstream platforms’ for reasons that absolutely require questioning for purpose of transparency if nothing else. Earl claims to be about the science but to me he seems emotionally compromised by the source.
In my opinion, Intelligence isn’t about how much you think you know, it’s an ability to question everything you think you know.
I don’t have an accepted peer reviewed study on that though so take it for what you will.
Again though, you’re point is taken FT, and time to move on from this impasse.

Immunity is immunity.

There is a difference. The immune response from contracting the virus is broader than getting vaccinated.

It's not really talking to the issue though. The real issue is in people with no anti-bodies and these are the people who are unvaccinated.

The best immune response is catching COVID and getting the vaccine. The more you are exposed the better the immune response.

I get what he is stating there and I totally agree with it. There is no natural immunity. You develop immunity via contracting COVID or via vaccination. This is because it is a novel (new) virus. This is unlike lots of other viruses that your parents or grandparents etc have caught and handed down to you some form of immunity.

There is though a difference between the immune response via contracting COVID and the immune response via the vaccine. In stating that I use the term broader rather than better.

My wife's Cousin and her husband were both fully vaccinated and caught Covid. The husband was a little bit crook for a couple of weeks but has recovered. The cousin ended up in the ICU for a couple of weeks and was very near death but fought back and is now recovering at home. She did have an existing lung condition and would no doubt have died if she had not been vaccinated.

And be very wary of the published "death rates". A very close friend of mine lost his mum recently. The usual accumulation of conditions that come with very old age. Once she had passed, the nurse in the hospital unit wanted to list the cause of death as covid. My friend didn't want this, because she didn't die from covid The nurse's logic ? . . . " she had breathing difficulties", and so she died from covid. I'm no doctor, but you'd think that most old folks on their last legs will have breathing difficulties. Now, I might be all conspiracy theory here, but it seems to me like they are trying to falsify death rates resulting from covid.
And strangely, with the media so hell bent on ravaging those who choose not to be vaxxed, it was confusing ( or misleading) when early in the piece, there were daily media reports of case numbers and deaths *from* *covid*. Then one day, out of the blue, there were case numbers, and just deaths. The inference of course was that they died from covid, but as ST said, old people die every day.
But surely they weren't lying about all them deaths that were reported by them to have been caused by covid ?
I look forward to the self appointed on here telling me where I'm wrong. It'll be interesting, coz I'm not wrong, but I look forward to the "education".

So I've just done the mad last-minute rush from London to Sydney.

QF1/2 via Darwin is actually quite nice. It's certainly a lot easier and stress-free than stopping in Dubai.

my case was that I asked for a med exemption because of my blood clot history...I was told that the health advise has been re done that it is only possible to get an exemption if I had an adverse reaction from the first shot.....sort of defeats the purpose since I have genuine concern for my own health..

Iam no anti vaxer,but I certainly dont trust a drug that the Pharma wont know the result of until 2023 because it is still in an trial mode and under EUA that changes as the Govt sees fit to serve their narrative...

Funny thing that people who died of heart attack,stroke or car accidents were recorded deaths due to covid...
also the terminology they use...
