But I'm sure the families of the people who passed away think it matters what instructions the Health Minister gave, don't you?

The familes of the people who didnt pass away would be thankful that the Health Minister (elected official) listened to the experts and made changes to save lives.

Of course the Health Minister and his experts are puppets, just parroting what their greater masters told them. Funny how we have had 120 years of democracy and yet we have never had a minister ever come out and say "you know what, we just did what the lizard men told us to".......in EVERY nation,

You sound like a pretty intelligent human being, why are you here wasting your time arguing with nutjobs like me?
I'm just a hippie freebird trying to live my life minding my own business.
I don't lock myself inside during flu season every year when thousands of people die and I'm not now and never will.

You could be saving the world with virus stats and colourful graphs, yet you're wasting brain cells on me.

Seems to be the case, and despite many opportunities and requests to make your case you have declined like a coward. On every occasion when I have sensibly responded to your nonsense you have obfuscated and changed the subject. So either put up your case of who is calling the tunes for the likes of Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon, Johnson & Scomo (and every other nation) to back up your wild theories, or keep them to yourself.

Unless you provide something constructive to the discussion, we are done so dont bother otherwise.

I noticed you didn't say anything about not paying to attend a David Icke talk, you did didn't you, wow, if you don't mind me asking, how much was it?
Do you still have your Lizard mask?

Enjoy your captivity

No idea who David Icke is, wasnt aware that he toured or that tickets could be bought, but then again also dont think there is a global conspiracy and if I did and thought it was worth defiling the rights of my fellow Australians, I would like to think I would have enough courage and integrity to put up and have the courage of my convictions. But it seems that not everone has integrity or courage. It seems that many can make big accusations but when it gets time to stand behind them the completely go to water and dont have the guts to stand up and own their beliefs. I know that these people exist and the name for them, cowards.

Its jarring to meet one in real life though I have to admit.

Ihave had many back and forths in these forums and before engaging with you I have never finished a discussion without respect in any but one case and that person I just dont engage with anymore. Everyone else in this forum, regardless of opinion or politics I respect because of our shared love of the Tigers and I respect their convictions and beliefs, despite the fact that they are contrary to mine. You on the other hand and a coward and arrogantly benefit from everyone else while belittling their sacrifice.

I have never blocked/ignored anyone here but if you continue to engage with me I might have ticked that box as well.

It goes both ways, at any time you can stop pressing letters.

I'm not holding a gun to your head making you respond, if I'm getting under your skin maybe you should ask yourself why you're still here responding.
Don't blame me.

Agreed

Don't get caught up on numbers, we already know that the false positive test rate and false negative rates are outrageous so I really don't know how or where they're getting these numbers from because we have no accurate way of testing for it.

But the public love numbers, so they just give us numbers, highly inaccurate numbers and fancy graphs to satisfy the mindless morons.

"Hurry up Karen, the public need to see another graph, don't worry if it's not accurate they don't know anyway, they only know what we put on the graph, they'll believe whatever you put on there, we just need to show them lines and numbers"

Of course I dont think and I dont think anyone here thinks these numbers are definitive but based on the high number of testing carried out in Australia and the consistency of the data correlated against itself and also against hard figures that ARE definitive such as hospital admissions and deaths, the numbers are a good representation of whats going on.

False negatives or positives dont matter once people start arriving in Hospitals.

You cant see any value in comparisons of the data from Mid March to today?

I don't see any value in this whole thing, this whole thing has been a total overreaction the two doctors who started this whole "social isolation" thing have come out already and said their computer models were all wrong and their estimate of total number of deaths is going to be less than half predicted which is as many as a normal flu season

The prevention has and will cause more deaths and disruption to our lives than the virus itself.
They'll just be slower.

Are you going to stay inside until we get an effective vaccine for the flu, malaria, tuberculosis, or parasites like Chagas, elephantiasis, hookworm or liver flukes?

What about Nipah, Lassa or M.E respitory syndrome?

Lyme, West Nile, Zika, Hepatitis C?

What about respitory syncytial virus?

Shit, I bet you haven't even heard of half of these, you'll never go outside again.

You haven't seen the mass graves in New York? Or the nearly 10000 deaths in New York already?

Yes I have, but what I haven't seen is an accurate way to determine how many were actually caused by covid19.

I also haven't seen the whole world shut down due to all the other things I listed, which have the potential to kill as many if not more than covid19.

The media has duped the masses again

By "the masses" you mean the scientific community and all of the world leaders and their governments who have led the response to the virus? But not you, no you're too clever for that, you can see that this whole thing is being driven by the media for the clear agenda of selling more newspapers or something...

No, by "The masses"
I mean the brain dead zombies that believe everything that they hear on their idiot box.

Got a question for you to think about, how many times throughout history do we later find out that the narrative that at the time was being presented as the truth was actually wrong or intentionally misleading?

As for listening to the GOVERNMENT
Let's look at what the word means, let's break it down.
The word 'Govern' is from the Latin verb Guverno, Guvernare which means "To control"
The word 'Ment' is a Latin noun Mens, Mentis which means "Mind"
= Mind Control

So keep listening to your Government tell you what to do through your idiot box

Ok so its the government doing this to "control the masses"? Seriously?

Lets look at this closer. In the US, you have an incumbent President, who is a filthy capitalist, seeking re-election in a vote THIS year, planning his whole strategy for re-election on a booming economy and he thought to himself..."I know what would seal the deal....if I make everyone stay inside and completely grind the economy into the ground...that'll work"

and in Australia, a conservative government, about to post a budget surplus ...."this is too easy, lets set a challenge and try to get unemployment up over 25%"

I am genuinely interested in what you think the government stands to gain in doing this?

Power and control

Not convinced without further explanation. Power & control only makes sense to me in a leftist, post modern or socialist scenario in which larger more involved government is the goal, but again when its a Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon, Johnson or Morrison government, I dont see that agenda and they only stand to lose, there is no win for them.

Im also pretty sure that three nights in ICU would not have been part of the grand plan for Boris.

So either you expand on your thoughts, or we are done.

Oh now I get it, you actually think these puppets you see on the TV are in control.

Now I understand why it makes no sense to you when I say "Power and control"
At least you're thinking now, most people aren't capable of doing even that.

Ok....so New World Order, implemented by the WHO. Am I right?

Is it led by the Chinese, Knights Templar or Alien Lizard people?

I just want to take this moment to thank you Tiger5150 for the effort in giving us a very well documented graph and explanation of such..
I do agree with most on here that we have to have restrictions like have been put in place to protect the community at large..
I also see the many arguments in regard to isolated NRL and other typical comparisons so as life can get back to as normal as possible..
I cant understand how people are still trying to shrug off this virus as it is only a flu, when so many people are dead and gravely ill from it and cases are still being uncovered daily all over the world..
Just this morning news.com stated that China is preparing for a second wave of this virus,it certainly looks bleak for the future if it is the case, restrictions may go longer than anticipated.
As for hangonaminute I truly believe he is living in a world of his own,to try and convince all and sundry that the Govt and expert medical advisors are trying mind and power control over us beggars belief,he surely is entitled to his opinion however, some of his remarks in regard to this topic cross the line of sensibility eg,trying to tell us more people die from being hit on the head by coconuts adds insult and injury to the many families worldwide that have lost loved ones,he obviously does not understand sensitive issues such as family loss especially if someone on this forum has lost someone through this or knows someone who has..

By "expert medical advisers" are you talking about the Health Minister who let all the infected people off the cruise ship?

The cruise ship which has directly been responsible for most of the deaths in Australia?

Yeah keep following the "orders" of these people, it's working really well.

The Health Minister isn't a health expert!

So he doesn't get advised by health experts?

Why does it matter that he does? i Get advised by mechanic whats wrong with my car, but it doesn't make me a mechanic. He only responds to the advice given to him. Thats why you have experts isn't it?

So he's a puppet, just like I said.
Yet everyone wants to start talking about NWO rubbish and tin foil hats, when I say it.
At least you're learning.

But I'm sure the families of the people who passed away think it matters what instructions the Health Minister gave, don't you?

Well i actually do think it matters about the instructions mate. Reality is without them the death rate in this country would be much, much higher. Now i can't speak for you or anybody else, but my parents are around the 70 mark, and while we are all in acceptance of age and it's ramifications, i don't want them going before their time because of the arrogance of society who couldn't be bothered to sacrifice a little for their fellow countrymen, particularly when i look at the sacrifices made by previous generations to allow us the lifestyle we live today. Then again, my employment is in an industry that every life matters, so i guess there are different priorities.

Furious, you are like most where you are able to at least have enough empathy and intelligence to consider the greater good, but there are some with enough arrogance and lack of empathy that they consider that their personal wants and rights surpass others requirements.

Thankful it seems you and I are in the massive majority/

Please tell me what I'm doing that is putting other's lives at danger?

Please tell me how anything I've said lacks empathy?

Since I've stated many times that my gripe is that the prevention is going to be more harmful than the virus itself, this is what you don't seem to understand.

I'm really interested to hear

You keep refering to the Minister who let the people off the boat and claimed so many lives as your strong argument ...yet you say that the cure will be bigger than the virus...I fail to understand your intended argument while you flout social distancing laws and go to the beach...if it just for exercise so be it, if its to grand stand that you do what you like when you like then that's another argument, when people are respecting others by doing what is expected ..

Shame because I had an arguable explanation of why you are doing the wrong thing and putting lives at risk directly.

We are done, finger poised over foe button.

So I'm putting lives at risk by going to the beach am I?

Well tell your overlords because they're the ones who have allowed me to go to the beach as long as I'm excercising and following social distancing rules, which I am.

Are you now resisting the advice from your overlords?

I go to surf, surfing is "excercising" I'm not breaking any of your overlords rules so relax.

If you think going to the beach (even to just hang out) is putting lives at risk more than lining up at Bunnings, BCF, Kmart, or JBhifi then your overlords have severely conditioned your mind, step back from the TV, put the remote down and leave the room immediately.

Besides, none of you even know what beach I'm talking about and how big it is, I'm not sitting on a packed Bondi beach.

Wow you've changed quick.

You are benefiting from the masses not going to the beach..when they did like Bondi for example it caused the Overloads to close them as there was a big spike in cases in the area so much so they had to set up a pop up clinic..

So now you can enjoy the peace and quiet at the beach thanks to the overlords

Enjoy

Over the next couple of days we are going to find about the impact 1 person can have on this with the unfolding situation at the nursing home in Penrith. I believe this person made an honest mistake but I fear this one person is going to result in a lot of deaths. They had direct contact with 66 residents in that nursing home!

As I said I believe this person made a mistake but we then have people like @hangonaminute who are purposefully going around risking others, imagine the damage they could cause!

Yes, i acknowledge the state government dropped the ball. I hope they are held accountable, and until the investigation is concluded neither me or you have any idea how that will turn out (unless you are one of the investigators) but from the outside, certainly looks like a massive......mistake.
How does this make the Federal Government advice from the Chief Medical officer wrong?

Bio security, customs and quarantine are Commonwealth responsibilities. = Border Farce

So you keep saying. I've seen your Border Farce comments for days. I'll wait for the findings from the official investigation.

Check the link. It is quite clear.

So are the emails from NSW Health saying the Ship was ok to dock without restrictions while requesting swabs so they could test them for covid 19

Really? You are interested to hear? Well that would require an indication to rationally engage in a discussion which you have refused for a day or so now. You have defaulted on any respect or entitlement to engage in a sensible discussion with me.

Wow you've changed quick.

You are benefiting from the masses not going to the beach..when they did like Bondi for example it caused the Overloads to close them as there was a big spike in cases in the area so much so they had to set up a pop up clinic..

So now you can enjoy the peace and quiet at the beach thanks to the overlords

Enjoy

Well take it up with your overlords, I'm only doing what they've said I can.
I'm surfing (like I always do and always will) and I'm keeping my social distance.

WAY more than everyone lining up at Bunnings JBhifi BCF Kmart or any supermarket.

So maybe you should go get up the people who are coming in WAY closer contact than me at all these places.

This i agree with. No doubt there is far more damage being done at those places you mention. Of course as has been mentioned to you, most likely ( depending on the break) you are benefiting from the goodwill of fellow surfers obeying the restrictions. Now if nobody obeyed those restrictions, you would be at a much greater risk.

See I can say dumb stuff too.

And here is the article which exposed a change to the Commonwealth declaration form one week after the Ruby Princess disembarkation. This is a -pre-arrival form completed by captains about passengers and crew. It asks if passengers had persistent coughing or breathing difficulties. The information declared in this form is used to shape the assessment health authorities make. You know now this is heading in the direction of Border Farce,
