Looks like the All Stars game could be in doubt due to the number of Melbourne players involved. NRL is looking at options.

We should’ve closed our border
With 27 days to go until the NRL kicks off , I can’t see the players wanting to live in another covid bubble because the Victorians can’t keep a lid on things ..

I don't agree with closing borders.

Nah stuff them ..
They’ve had multiple opportunities to get it right..
Northern Territory and South OZ have closed there borders so should we .

No one should be closing borders.

I’m happy for you ..
Just don’t whinge if the UK strain makes it’s way into NSW !

I feel for Victorians in Mildura, Moorabin, Ballarat who need to close down their business, shut down wages and people who are losing money because the Vic Govt are unable to manage hotel quarantine. It is tragic in our country where we have done such an incredible job of controlling this that they have to give up so much.

Dan said that he had the "Gold Standard" hotel quarantine.

Chairman Dan is absolutely unbelievable.

Has the guy got no shame, can he put his foot any further in his mouth.

The clown is there at the National Cabinet meeting spruiking on about how Victoria has the highest Hotel Quarantine standards in the country, telling other premiers that they should do all these wonderful things that they have introduced into Victoria.

The look on his face would have been priceless when he is told that everyone else has been doing those things for nearly 12 months, what parallel universe is he living in?

I mean, the clowns have only just gone from a slate and a piece of chalk with their contact tracing and finally discovered QR codes.

Next minute he's out there locking down the whole state again, destroying businesses, mental health and peoples lives in general, telling everyone that this UK strain is moving so fast that it is challenging the status etc, etc.

Funny how it moves so fast but only seems to do so in Victoria, as a matter of fact it is the only thing moving in Victoria at the moment.

How can anyone defend this moron after the lies that he has told, with the latest ones emerging about what may really be the true story about the nebulizer that was used in the quarantine hotel.

They're trying to impeach Donald Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon for a record second time and everyone may have their own opinions on whether that should or shouldn't happen, but what should happen to this fool that has so far killed something like 800 Victorians?

A dysfunctional government like Andrew’s is only in power because of an even worse opposition.

I’m very naive about all this, but my question is why are we continuing to bring people here from overseas in the first place? With this so called new, more virulent strain emerging why can’t everyone just bloody well stay where they are for now! At least until the vaccines are rolled out and hopefully things might actually settle down.

And if we have to bring them back here for whatever reason, why are the authorities at the other end not checking and testing people rigorously before allowing them to board a plane? It’s all very well to blame our quarantine measures at this end (and yes they haven’t been great at times either), but I think it’s actually the quarantine measures at the other end that is letting us down more often than not. Stop accepting people from overseas period! Expats or not.

Australia is in a good position with Covid compared to much of the world, yet we’re still intent on bringing the rest of the world to our shores during this pandemic and threatening the safety of the country in the process - it’s bloody madness.

SHUT THE OS BORDERS! SPUD FOR PM 🕺😳

You might look at this from a different prospective if your daughter is stuck overseas.
Before our daughter could move between Dubai and Abu Dhabi to catch a flight home she had to return a negative result and then have a negative result before she was allowed to enter the airport for her flight home.
It has always bothered me why all inbound passengers are not tested and receive a negative result before they are allowed anywhere near a plane bound for Australia.

The vast majority of people coming from overseas are returning Australians. Not sure we can lock our own out (although in my mmind they have had 12months to get back).

The people, for the most part, are Australians returning home. That’s who we are letting back into the country and we should absolutely do that.

If you're fair dinkum outraged about deaths, instead of using them as a political football, have a read of the Royal Commission into Aged Care findings.

You'll see pretty quickly that the federal government have a hell of a lot to answer for.

Just add those findings to all the other findings that Scammo and his cronies avoid. He has a very dominant tame media(Murdoch) that dont ask the difficult questions and he is defunding the media that does.

Seems a bit unfair to lock Aussies out of their own country.

You'd also be shutting down international imports/exports which would be economically devastating.

Friends in Vic now call their Premier 'Dan the lock down man'.

But I agree reform to what constitutes overseas travellers needs to be undertaken. Australian citizens should be able to return but even those returning home for a holiday before returning to their country of work should go to the back of the queue with all others. If Dan refuses to undertake quarantine, what happens to Vic residents?
