Got my first Pfizer shot today - hundreds of people lining up at RPAH. My arm is a little sore now and I've just popped a couple of panadol as I'm starting to feel a bit lethargic.

And, your point is?

Could it be that he is just giving a first hand account?

A worry that they don't know how this new Sydney case got their infection.

The hotel quarantine system seems to be struggling at the moment. I know people have strong opinions either way, but I support having closed international borders for the time being. To have a serious outbreak in NSW after all this time and effort would be devastating. There's a case to be made for quarantine facilities at isolated mining camps, defence sites or whatever, but the reality is they aren't there now, and right now we just can't risk it. Some of these new variants are causing utter havoc internationally, we must not allow that to happen here.

I am absolutely for quarantine facilities being built outside the major cities. Have said so for a while now. COVID19 won’t be the last pandemic we face. The best time to start planning & building it/them was April 2020. The next best time to start is tomorrow.

Yeah I remember you saying that, and I agree. I guess my point is even though they should be made ready they aren't ready right now, so I support restricting travellers right now, given hotel quarantine seems to be straining, and given how much countries like India are blowing up.

But I'm not trying to re-start an argument that's already been had. I sympathise with the argument that stopping Australian citizens entering Australia is wrong. It's a tough situation.

IMHO, all Aussies that want to come back to Australia shall be given a chance, no stupid penalties! Before the flight they shall go through symptoms check procedures.
IMHO, the same shall be offered to non-Aussies, and on the arrival they shall all go to quarantine.
With the current interstate payment arrangement,
if Sydney is the only quarantine center, all states shall pay immediately their share.
In the case that for instance Qld, Vic, or NT don't want to pay for quarantine, the traveler shall either pay the quarantine costs themselves, or shall not be allowed to get on the flight. The same applies to non-Aussies.

I have issue with people that support(ed) state lockdown, and at the same time want open external borders?
This makes sense only if those people are 'each-way' party faithfuls.

So increase the number of people required to transport and care for the these people, 2 x to 4x the transport? 1 in 100 cases will die and up to 10 in 100 need hospitalisation, medivac back to major cities?

Yep. Can be done safely.

But why?

Why increase the cost, increase the risk to support staff, increase the risk of positive cases dying? What is your rationale? What is the benefit of them being back of nowhere?

It removes the risk from the Major Cities and therefore removes the reasoning for not allowing Australians to return home.

Additionally the cost of shutting down major metropolitan areas as a result of an outbreak I believe would be far greater than any additional operational costs.

Sydney Roosters players have been sent for testing and may be forced to isolate in the wake of Sydney’s Covid-19 outbreak.

An Eastern Suburbs man who tested positive to the virus this week visited the Azure Cafe at Mooe Park where Roosters players and staff regularly attend.

It is located close to the Roosters offices and is also frequented by NRL head office staff who will also be contacted about their movements.

..... now that is a Gods retribution message of cheer ..... to all of us long sombrero suffering footy fans.

Unless it has occurred at the Roosters local golf course , no players or management will be sick
