Well, NSW numbers are up again today and it's the same old spiel from Gladys...The lockdown hasn't worked, in so far as she could have, and should have gone harder with it.

I'll be surprised if she relaxes any restrictions next month.

My sister in law has a wedding booked for next month.
Wonder how that'll go...


Hunter/Newcastle entered a 7 snap lockdown.
I have no doubts it will be extended.

I just can't see us getting out of this Demps. Maybe it's just my frustration at the whole thing with the way it's playing out, but it's clear people who have the virus either aren't aware, or don't care because they are still out in the community and it's continuing to spread, which means resources will be spread thinner, reducing their effectiveness.

Just got back from the Falls not long ago. First time down the bottom, an absolutely beautiful spot.

What brand shoes/boots do you wear and/or recommend when bush walking @Cultured_Bogan?
I need a pair of soft easy walkin but supportive and protective shoes/boots, but cant afford to pay big $$$.

I wear comfortable sneakers because I have dancers feet. I've done all the walks in the mountains that I have in just sneakers.

I have only worn ASICS for the last 12 years. They can cop a flogging and are well made.

I would consider the source of your information in the future, links to government, educational site etc are fine. Linking to a website from some guy contemplating life will be deleted. This is a very important topic and I believe only the best sources of information should be shared.

I'm open-minded. I looked at it and recognised it for what it was. You seem to equate rationality with close-mindedness. I have no problem with people making their own minds up, but on an important issue like this I'm happy to enter the fray and give them another perspective to consider. If there were any substance to your arguments you'd be able to defend them against "discrediting" and "belittling" but there isn't, so you don't.

Oh good, a whole pile of personalised, anecdotal evidence that will be overweighted and distort people's risk perception.

We see it the other way every day in the media and much of it is relayed here

Rubbish, nobody is suggesting that the vaccines carry no risk. They are saying that people should perceive the risk based on probabilistic evidence. That website is fearmongering.

The fearmongering is in every newspaper and on every news report

Of course it is Sherlock, that’s what gets clicks and views. Don’t tell me you are only just realising this.

So what can I trust from the media?
That’s important to know at times like these

Just trying to gauge what is it isn’t allowable so I don’t overstep the mark

FWIW, I like the Gor-Tex Merrell Moab 2 Mid. They retail about $280 but sometimes pop up on catch for about $150. Super tough and very comfortable once you've worn them a few times.

I did a 3 week trip to Warrambungles, Broken Hill, Victoria, Snowy etc and wore them the entire 3 weeks. They were the only shoes I wore that trip.
