Yeah mate, don’t listen to that rubbish, I am in the same situation. I would much rather be at work but only have 1 days work at the moment in a business that has lost 95% of its income.

This is why lockdowns can't continue. I have mates that have small businesses and they are getting flogged.

There is also the issue in relation to the poor people copping it more in this situation than the rich. On top of that the poor tend to be minority communities.

I work for a big company. I'm on leave and getting paid. I've never had to turn up to work during the pandemic. I just work from home.

The whole situation is a disaster.

It's a balance issue. Either open small business and risk the virus going out of control or clamp down on the virus as quickly as possible.

I agree. We don't have a choice now. It's just that we can't keep operating with harsh lockdowns whenever we get an outbreak.

You didn't have an immediate harsh lockdown, that's the point.
Immediate harsh short lockdown's work.
The 100000 horses have now bolted due to the weakness of your premier.

I think there are multiple issues here:-

1. We should have locked down quicker.
2. Putting this all on Gladys when health are right in this. I don't believe the premier is weak or anything like that. She is a human being with flaws like everyone here. To put all of this solely on here is in my opinion hilarious.
3. Long term it's not going to work.

The key point to me is long term it's not going to work. It'll get out in Queensland and WA and everywhere in the world because it's COVID.

It will now because some selfish people in Sydney let the rest of the country down. If Gladys reacted faster like the other states all have done we might not of been talking about things like we are today.

Whats done is done but Gladys hasn’t been a great decisive leader through this.

And to think there was a few on here arguing that it wasn’t a commonwealth issue - well it has become one very quickly.

The simple point is, she was happy to wear the mantle of "Gold Standard Gladys" when things were happily sailing along, she should equally be prepared to accept responsibility for the mounting failings of the governmental response to this outbreak. Ministerial responsibility used to be a proud tenet of the Westminster system that has increasingly been eroded. She (rightly) chose to put herself front and centre in this and she should take responsibility. It should not be farmed off to bureaucrats.

politicians go by their own rules apparently ...

Sadly that would be the norm for his age, most people that age think they are bullet proof

It's bizarre right. I've spoken about my SIL and her family. They just think it's a joke. They are really sick right now because they've got it.

I hope they get through it ok.

She failed miserably so it's "Oh well we have to live with it".
Queenslanders and other stae's residents have all stood together and done the right thing but we're all expected to live with it because the Premier of the largest state didn't protect her citizens.

All countries have failed to keep it to zero. I don't think it was ever realistic to have 0 Covid. The other thing would be to put up a permanent hard border with the other states which I feel like they are heading towards that notive.
