40 days until 90% (14 days until 90% single dosed.)

I hope we get to at least this level.

I think we hit the single dose figure, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that the double dose target hits it. No one will get jabbed only once.

Some people only end up getting one if they have bad side affects and don’t want to to it again. Most likely will hit 90%.

Yes, but they would be a minute fraction. I don't think they would be large enough numbers to not convert the 90% single dosage in to double.

A couple of interesting points:-

1. Pfizer have reported vaccines are safe and effective for kids. I think it was 5 - 11 yo's.
2. Booster shots were not approved in the US.

What was the reasoning for the booster shots not getting approval?

Geeze these boofheaded tradies in Melbourne are doing themselves no favours.

I will preface this by saying I am a tradesman, at the end of the day this is all still anecdotal.

Based on my own interactions, most younger tradies are likely to be vaxxed. It tends to be the older fellas that are resistant to the idea of being jabbed.

Those protests weren't simply just pissed off tradies, there was a contingent of pot-stirrers wanting to push their agenda as well. That gronk Avi Yemeni was there for a start, and it appeared there was a lot of very clean hi-vis workwear in the area.

Which is one of the reasons why Bill Shorten was never elected Prime Minister. They are disenfranchised people and that sort of comment from a leader is unhelpful.

True..there appears some provocateurs presented.
I’m construction as well. My team did not miss a single day of work up until 4 weeks ago. None of them had to use their banked sickies, RDO’s or holidays and they all got full pay…unlike a huge section of the community who have been living on government support for the majority of the past 18 months. We got shutdown for a few weeks but have returned on some restrictions. They aren’t big restrictions…wear your mask, abide by the 4m2 rule, staggered start times, staggered meal breaks. Not too bad.

IMO we have had it easier than most other industries during the pandemic. If there is one set who could live a relatively normal life this past 18 months, it is construction workers. That is why the whinging and over the top hyperbole coming from within it is frustrating. It doesn’t take much to fire our group up and the misinformation is often taken as gospel by members. These protests, and scenes of bashing coppers is not doing our sector any favours. The knock on effects will be felt by us all.

I don't know if they were necessarily Nazis, certainly anti-lockdown campaigners among them though. As I said, famed wife beater and anti-lockdown campaigner Avi Yemeni was there.

And Shorten doesn't help labelling the protesters that, painting a public perception that tradesmen are Nazis is not helpful.

Yeah labelling the protestors as nazis is beyond stupid.
The greater majority of the construction industry are not Anglo.
Racists get found out and run out of town pretty quick smart.

The data for most people isn't clear cut just yet. If you are in a high risk category - i.e. over 65 or a health care worker I think they are going to or already have recommended booster shots.

The big question has always been why provide booster shots to wealthy countries when developed countries are suffering.

My opinion is that booster shots are going to be recommended at some point in the near future but I could be wrong.

It sucks how vocal minorities can make a lot of noise and impact the rest of society.

Wouldnt the big question be whether the necessary or effective?

The decision that you are referencing in the US was made by a FDA panel and their remit is not to protect africans. I cant see the FDA deciding to not give necessary and effective boosters to US citizens so that others can get them.

Just received (again via my partner) a social media from the Mayor of my LGA that our LGA has reached over 95% of the population over 15 with the first vaccine shot (68% double vaxxed).

If the rest of the city/state nation/ got to 95% I think we'd be fine. I hope this is the way it rolls out everywhere.

It's really sad to learn of personal struggles in lockdown, especially elderly parents living alone and isolated from children. I just had a chat with a lady who had a bit of a moment because her mother is not eating and is depressed. It's easy to get caught up with your own issues but it is good to be reminded others are in need as well.
