I was listening to one scientist talk about the transfer from animals to humans should have taken another 800 years to cross over and he believes that's they spend up the process in a lab

I also mentioned previously though that I think a lot of people who want to get a medical exemption won't be able too. True Tiger fits that category. In his opinion he shouldn't get vaccinated but the medical opinion differs from his. He has also lost his job.

That is a lab leak theory is valid as there is a lab in Wuhan that specialises in gain of function research on coronaviruses.

To me part of using science and facts and having a high burden of proof is to be open minded. I keep stating that we need to see what happens in 6 months time and even longer.

The thing is the science has stood up so well. Look at how NSW and Victoria have handled this delta outbreak. It's amazing. It's the best science because you make a prediction and it comes true.

I agree with your comments about doctors/scientists not being ethical. That is why I have a high burden of proof. I don't just want scientific peer reviewed research. I want scientific peer reviewed research along with exceptional data-sets.

The thing is all the anti-COVID arguments have really really really poor science behind them. I watched one of those videos that was posted on here and it may as well have been a fictional movie. I was expecting a link to a peer reviewed papers and quality data. It was fiction.

I've stated multiple times if we require booster shots every 6 months it's a win for the anti-COVID crowd. I don't think that will happen but the future will prove my future prediction right or wrong.

The problem is that we aren't even talking about that. There are still the arguments that COVID isn't real, the PCR tests don't work, the vaccines don't work and have all sorts of side effects. This is all nonsense.

Good questions.

There are two options how it got out. One option is it was an accident from a lab (we assume Wuhan). Another option is it transferred from animals. There is no evidence to prove either of these options. This is not unusual though. I don't believe it was ever proven where the Spanish Flu came from. To me it's not something to get too worked up about apart from trying to prevent this happening again.

There isn't some big conspiracy. The biggest conspiracy could be it leaked out of a lab in Wuhan but it's not really a conspiracy. It's a theory that can't be proved at this point in time.

For some reason people can't grasp the facts. I think an interesting discussion would be why some people appear to make the anti-COVID arguments part of their identity. This is a psychological question. Why do people go into cults ? Why do people believe in a flat earth ?

I didn't say this exactly but it's pretty close. I have a high burden of proof. I know kids typically don't get very sick. I want to see data that states is really helps them and I especially would like to know that there are minimal side effects. If they aren't getting sick from COVID but a couple of kids die or get really sick from the vaccine it's a concern.

The reality is though I bet the side effects will be minimal and the vaccine will be effective in minimizing transmission. I stated my 11 yo will have the vaccine but my wife would take every vaccine she could get her hands on. She desperately wants him vacccinated. I have an 18 yo and a 20 yo as well and they are both fully vaccinated.

One thing that is awesome for Australia is that we've been behind the curve in a good way. So when we make policy decisions we get to see what has happened overseas. The only problem is once we open up (like now) we might have to react without the evidence to guide us.

I have extended family who I am 100% positive caught COVID but I can't prove it. They are anti-COVID believers. They didn't get tested. It went through the whole extended family. No one died. They did the Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) approach. I'm positive they had it because they mentioned the lack of smell etc.

They were travelling from a hot spot to the Eastern suburbs and back in the middle of lockdown. My SIL stated if you get a fine just throw it in the bin.

They actually got tested later because they have to travel back to Saudi Arabia. It's pretty funny but more than one person in that demographic took the same approach and died. So that ain't funny.

People spreading misinformation or half truths on the internet is the reason so many people are fearful and confused. Best to just let experts do their job and be thankful we live in a country with capable leaders working in our best interest.
